New York Knicks at Miami Heat 2010 NBA Preview, Odds, and Predictions

New York Knicks at Miami Heat 2010 NBA Preview, Odds, and Predictions:  Center Amar’e Stoudemire will lead the New York Knickerbockers to the American Airlines Arena on Tuesday night at 7:30 PM ET to take on the red hot Miami Heat.  The Knicks have been streaking as well winning their last 2 to enter the game 18-12 2nd in the Atlantic while the Heat have won 14 of 15 and come in at 23-9 1st in the Southeast.  “We’re not trying to make a statement to anyone,” said LeBron James coming off a triple double, “We’re trying to show each other that we can play at a high level and try to get better every game. “We never had that arrogant part where we thought we were bigger than everybody else, but we were just very confident before we did anything. To have that humbling experience at the beginning of the season has helped us.”  The Heat have owned the Knicks lately winning the last 7 consecutive and the last 6 by a 14+ point margin and shooting guard Dwayne Wade has been the biggest reason averaging nearly 36 points per game in that span.  The odds makers at Bodog have the Miami Heat a -8 1/2 point favorite at home against the New York Knicks.

The Heats most recent victory came on Christmas Day as they went on the road to beat the Los Angeles Lakers 96-80 at the Staples Center to move to 15-16-1 ATS for the season.  LeBron James led the way with 27 points 11 rebounds and 10 assists for his third triple double of the season, his last coming against the Knicks at the Garden.  Chris Bosh chipped in with 24 points and 13 boards while Dwayne Wade dropped in 18 points.  Miami is 6-1 SU in its last 7 games at home and the Heat are playing great defense holding teams to fewer than 87 points on average in the last 15 games.  Vegas odds makers have the Miami Heat +200 to win the 2010-2011 NBA Championship.

The Knicks have played well defensively in their latest wins most recently 103-95 over the division leading Chicago Bulls moving them to an impressive 20-9-1 ATS for the season.  Stoudemire and point guard Raymond Felton led the Knicks with 20 points apiece.   “We did a beautiful job defensively,” the Knicks’ Amar’e Stoudemire said. “We’ve been talking about defense now for the past – actually the whole year – but more so the past week about communicating, helping the helper, so it’s really showing.”  Vegas odds makers have the over/under for the total score at 204 1/2 points combined of the New York Knicks and Miami Heat.

I predict a Heat victory at home.
