New Orleans Saints at Atlanta Falcons 2010 NFL Predictions, Odds, and Picks Week 16

New Orleans Saints at Atlanta Falcons 2010 NFL Predictions, Odds, and Picks Week 16:  Quarterback Drew Brees will lead the defending Super Bowl Champion New Orleans Saints on the road to the Georgia Dome to take on the Atlanta Falcons on Monday Night Football at 8:30 PM ET on ESPN.  New Orleans enters the game 10-4 in 2nd place behind Atlanta’s 12-2 1st place in the NFC South.  Atlanta is 6-0 at home this season with their last loss last December to the Saints here at the Georgia Dome.  A win this week or next would clinch the no. 1 seed in the NFC this week or next for the Falcons.  “We try not to concern ourselves with what the outcome really means down the road,” Head football coach Mike Smith said. “We know where we’re at, we like where we’re at.”  Chin music, Brees has a much more honest approach.  “The next two games are very big. They don’t get any bigger,” Drew Brees said. “We control our own destiny, and we have a lot to play for. It’s too early to look at the playoff picture right now, but if we are a wild-card team, the road to the Super Bowl will be on the road.”  The odds makers at BetUS have the Atlanta Falcons -2 1/2 point favorites at home against the New Orleans Saints.

The Falcons are coming off a victory 34-18 on the road in the Pacific Northwest against the Seattle Seahawks moving them to an impressive 10-4 ATS for the season.  Quarterback Matt Ryan completed 20 of 35 passes for 174 yards 3 touchdowns and a pick also scrambling 6 times for 6 yards.  The total has gone OVER in 5 of Atlanta’s last 6 games when playing New Orleans.  Vegas odds makers have the Atlanta Falcons as +550 odds to win the 2011 Super Bowl.

The Saints are coming off a loss 30-24 on the road to the Baltimore Ravens moving them to a surprising 5-9 ATS for the season.  Quarterback Drew Brees completed 29 of 46 passes for 267 yards 3 touchdowns and a pick hitting Jimmy Graham with 5 balls for 29 yards and 2 touchdowns.  “From a confidence standpoint, it’s unwavering for us,” said Brees, who had at least one interception for the 10th straight game. “We’re as confident as any team out there and we know how good we can be and how great we can be.”  Vegas odds makers have the over/under for the total score at 50 points combined of the New Orleans Saints and Atlanta Falcons.

I predict a Falcons victory at home!
