Sports the Way I See It…From My Couch(Volume 2)

Lots of things happening in sports since the last time I posted my “Sports the Way I See It…From My Couch” column, so let me get my 2 cents in on a few top sports stories that made headlines recently.

This Brett Favre Guy is Back……Ugh!
He’s back!!!!!!!! Excuse the rest of the country as we all collectively groan. I mean, good lord, enough is enough already. You know what Favre is? This guy is the 40 year-old washed-up mother of two at the club, who still thinks just because she is in the building dressed like all the 21 year-old hotties that she still has “it” and guys will still be drooling over her. For those of you who don’t understand that analogy(lol!), he is simply nothing more than an attention whore that still thinks the NFL world cares about him and he foolishly believes he still has the ability to play in this league. Memo to Brett, NOBODY cares about you anymore and you are a washed up bum. I think I speak for 99% of the country when I say GO THE BLEEP HOME ALREADY AND HANG IT UP!!! How this guy honestly wakes up in the morning and stands up to pee is beyond me. Tired of him.

The Big Mouth in New Jersey(aka Rex Ryan)
Speaking of guys I’m tired of, let me get my 2 cents in on Rex Ryan and his latest diarreah of the mouth episode. In case you missed it, Big Mouth Rex sounded off again this week to a New York radio station saying, “When I said that about Belichick (“I’m not here to kiss his rings.”), I’m just letting him know I’m not intimidated by him.” Does this guy think Bill Belichick or ANY coach in the NFL is honestly losing sleep at night because Rex Ryan is coaching the New York friggen Jets? Does he honestly believe Belichick cares that Rex Ryan is not intimated by him? Good lord, if this guy isn’t a tool than neither is the wrench sitting in my drawer. Rex, here’s a tip….SHUT UP already! You haven’t won jack squat in this league as a head coach and until you do, nobody cares what you have to say. I can’t wait for New England to blow the doors off the Jets in week 2 this NFL season.

Roy Jones Jr……..Why is he still fighting?
Is it just me, or did anyone else not realize Roy Jones Jr was fighting a pay-per-view event this past saturday against Jeff Lacy? C’mon, don’t lie, you didn’t know about the fight either! I don’t pretend to be a huge boxing expert or it’s biggest fan, but I do consider myself to be a somewhat knowledgeable boxing observer and follow the sport whenever a big fight is upcoming. However, the words “big fight” and Roy Jones Jr. haven’t been put in the same sentence for a few years now. The guy is 40 years-old and just might be one of the most overrated boxers of my life time. Sure, his “talent” was undeniable in his heyday and was considered by many to be the sport’s best “pound for pound” fighter, but does anyone remember this guy ever beating a top opponent? He was always too interested in pursuing his rap or basketball career outside of the ring and not interested enough in taking on all the top contenders to build a lasting legacy. Now he has lowered himself to fighting pay-per-view events at the age of 40 against hacks in Biloxi, MS. Did anyone reading pay the $34.95 to witness the fight on pay-per-view? I didn’t think so.
