Washington Redskins at Philadelphia Eagles 2010 NFL Predictions, Odds, and Picks Week 4

Washington Redskins at Philadelphia Eagles 2010 NFL Predictions, Odds, and Picks Week 4:  Head football coach Mike Shanahan takes his Washington Redskins on a trip to hostile territory on Sunday as they head north to play NFC East rival the Philadelphia Eagles at 4:15 PM ET at Lincoln Financial Field.  Coach Shanahan traded for quarterback Donovan McNabb to become the starter for the skins in the off-season after 11 seasons as the starter in Philly.   There will be some welcoming applause, but plenty of boos from the raucous Philly crowd.  Head football coach Andy Reid planned on Kevin Kolb replacing McNabb but an injury along with stellar play from embattled Michael Vick got him the starting job.

“He very easily could have said that he didn’t think it was a good idea,” Reid said, regarding McNabb’s input into Vick’s signing. “He had a past relationship with Michael and saw the good in Michael, so he shared that with me. And then when Michael got here, he followed that up with working out with Michael every morning, helping him with the offensive stuff and going over it from a player’s standpoint. And then I give a lot for credit to Michael for being humble enough to be in that situation, at the same time continuing to work to get better at the things he felt he needed to get better at.”  And now they will be on opposite sides of the field.  The odds makers at Diamond have the Philadelphia Eagles -6 point favorites at home against the Washington Redskins.

The Eagles beat down the Jacksonville Jaguars last Sunday on the road 28-3 as quarterback Michael Vick had a big day going 17 for 31 for 291 yards passing and 3 touchdowns.  Vick also used his mobility carrying the ball 4 times for 30 yards and a 17 yard scamper into the end zone for another score.  ”He played his heart out today, so it’s more about him than me or anybody else,” Reid said. ”It’s a tribute to what he’s done and how he’s handled things.”  Vegas odds makers have the Philadelphia Eagles as +2500 odds to win the 2011 Super Bowl.

The Skins went to St. Louis and got it handed to them 30-16 sending them home 1-2.  Quarterback Donovan McNabb completed 19 of 32 passes for 234 yards a touchdown and an interception.  The defense gave up 365 net yards to the lowly Rams with rookie quarterback Sam Bradford.  The total has gone UNDER in 4 of Washington’s last 6 games when playing on the road against Philadelphia.  Vegas odds makers have the over/under for the total score at 43 points combined of the Washington Redskins and Philadelphia Eagles.
