NFL Power Rankings – Week 8, 2010

The AFC is still the stronger conference in the NFL with three teams having only 1 loss and by virtue of holding down the top 6 spots in this week’s rankings.  The NFC is wide open this year and only 2 teams have less than 3 losses already.

HEAVYWEIGHTS/CONTENDERS

.Steelers 5-1 (1) When you’re good and lucky ….that’s a tough combination to beat.

.Jets 5-1 (2) Now that the Yankees collapsed, all of NY’s hopes ride on this squad…can they deliver?

.Colts 4-2 (5) Look, I know they’re hurt but they could still beat everyone below them in this list.

.Titans 5-2 (7) Gotta give props to PornStache this year, he has them playing very well.. Can they beat the big boys though?

.Patriots 5-1 (6) Survived in spite of  Hoodie’s dumbass decision.  Lucky for them, they were playing Norv’s boys…

.Ravens 5-2 (3) Escaped a major embarrassment against the Bills…  if they lost, would they have blamed the refs again?

.Giants 5-2 (9) In spite of Eli, they overcame a big deficit and beat Dallas going away…  making a case for the NFC’s best team…

.Falcons 5-2 (10) Tied with G-men for NFC’s best record….

.Saints 4-3 (4) Not so easy trying to repeat… is it boys????

.Chiefs 4-2 (11) Are they for real?  Not sure, but they are beating the teams they should at this point.

.Texans 4-2 (14) Are these guys for real?…ahhh…no.

.Packers 4-3 (13) Needed to get that Favre-monkey off their backs in the worst way…

.Redskins 4-3 (16) This team will be a tough out for any opponent.

.Eagles 4-3 (8) Can’t figure this team out…but then again Andy Reid can’t figure out who the QB is…

MIDDLEWEIGHTS/PRETENDERS

.Bucs 4-2 (17) Beat the Rams by 1 point and Raheem Morris declares them the best team in the NFC….settle down, son…

.Seahawks 4-2 (19) Looking like someone finally wants the NFC West.

.Dolphins 3-3 (12) Got hosed on that call, but no one in NY, NE or PA cares…

.Bears 4-3 (18) Are all the Cutler-apologists in Chicago still optimistic about year 2?  Once a bum, always a bum….

.Vikings 2-4 (15) Favre’s ankle, Chilly’s calling him out, Moss returning to Foxboro, Chilly saying NE stole signs, Favre texting his junk to hotties….. What will ESPN fixate on for 7 days????? Too many stories, so little time.

.Cardinals 3-3 (20) Are they still in the league??  Since Warner left, I haven’t seen a minute of them this year.

.Chargers 2-5 (21) This team is ranked 1st in offense, 1st in defense…but last in intelligence…..

.Rams 3-4 (23) Had a setback in their progress by giving up a 14 pt lead to lose at TB.

.Bengals 2-4 (22) When you combine idiots with bad coaching, this is what you get.

.Raiders 3-4 (28) Raise your hand if you saw that coming?

.Browns 2-5 (30) The Browns dominating the defending champs on the road and The Rat losing all that weight…The world is upside down, I’m telling ya.

LIGHTWEIGHTS/ON THE CLOCK

.Jaguars 3-4 (25) Move to LA already…will ya?

.Broncos 2-5 (24) As my colleague David E. has pointed out….time for Little Hoodie to put his house on the market.

.Cowboys 1-5 (26) As Don Meridith used to sing…Turn out the Lights, the Party’s over……

.Lions 1-5 (26) At least they didn’t find a way to lose on the bye week.

.Panthers 1-5 (32) A local Charlotte TV station ran a poll Sunday night asking if Carolina could salvage their season…  What??   good one….

.Niners 1-6 (27) The Niners vs. The Broncos in London…wow, what a matchup….that will kill this NFL Euro experiment once and for all….

.Bills 0-6 (31) I think they are better than a few teams above, but when you have the only donut in the win column, you get this spot.
