Minnesota Vikings at Green Bay Packers 2010 NFL Predictions, Odds, and Picks Week 7

Minnesota Vikings at Green Bay Packers 2010 NFL Predictions, Odds, and Picks Week 7:  Quarterback Brett Favre leads his Minnesota Vikings back to Lambeau Field to take on the Green Bay Packers on Sunday evening at 8:20 PM ET on NBC’s Football Night in America.  Favre played most of his career with Green Bay prior to being pushed out as the Packers wanted to give an opportunity to the younger Aaron Rodgers.  Favre is 2-0 against the Pack since joining the Vikings but is amidst sexting allegations with the NFL for actions while he was a Jet.  “I’m a little bit reluctant to say I’m excited to go back to Green Bay,” Favre said. “It’s a challenge that hopefully we’ll live up to.”  Green Bay has been banged up but is getting some players back for this rivalry divisional game.  “We’re getting hopefully two studs back this week on defense, three if you count Clay,” quarterback Aaron Rodgers said. “We need those guys back. We need to be at full force. No excuses, obviously.”  It’s not a battle of quarterbacks but both of them want to prove their worth on the field.  The odds makers at JustBet have the Green Bay Packers -2 1/2 point favorites at home against the Minnesota Vikings.

The Vikings are coming off a home win 24-20 over the Dallas Cowboys leaving them at 2-3 for the season and 3-2 ATS.  Quarterback Brett Favre completed 14 of 19 passes for 118 yards and a touchdown hitting newly acquired wide receiver Randy Moss 5 times for 55 yards.  Running back Adrian Peterson carried 24 times for 73 yards and a touchdown.  The total has gone UNDER in 4 of Minnesota’s last 6 games when playing on the road against Green Bay.  Vegas odds makers have the Minnesota Vikings as +1600 odds to win the 2011 Super Bowl.

Green Bay is coming off 2 consecutive losses most recently at home 23-20 in overtime to the Miami Dolphins to move to 3-3 on the season but just 2-4 ATS.  Quarterback Aaron Rodgers completed 18 for 33 passes for 313 yards a touchdown and a pick.  “We haven’t done a good enough job getting seven on the board in the red zone, and we’ve done a poor job on third downs,” Rodgers said. “So I have to look at myself first and I have to play better. I have not been playing up to the standard I’ve set for the way I’ve played in my 38 starts. I’ve got to play better.”  Green Bay is 6-1 SU in its last 7 games at home and the total has gone OVER in 5 of Green Bay’s last 6 games when playing Minnesota.  Vegas odds makers have the over/under for the total score at 44 points combined of the Minnesota Vikings and Green Bay Packers.
