I mentioned yesterday that I’m no fan of the “throwback” uniform concept. The players must hate having to wear those ugly things, remember those hideous things the Jets wore last year? Making the players wear them is like your boss coming in one day and saying that we’re going to honor our predecessors and wear Pilgrim clothes all next week. So, if I’m proposing to stick with the regular uni’s, it got me to thinking who has the best and worst of the current crop? So allow me to play fashion consultant like those people who rip the stars on the red carpet.
My Fave Five
Oakland Raiders– the black and silver has stood the test of time. Their owner with his sweatsuit/pajama look hasn’t though.
Philadelphia Eagles – Love the green and grey colors,the logo on the helmet, everything. Love the uni’s, hate their fans.
New Orleans Saints – I like the logo and the black/gold color scheme. You’re gonna like the way they look, I guarantee it.
Detroit Lions – Always liked the light blue and silver together, and the lion on the helmet is a cool logo. Now if only their play can match the way they look..
New England Patriots – Nothing like their blue jerseys contrasting with the green of the Fieldturf on a sunny Foxboro day, my television never looks better….
Honorable Mention
Carolina Panthers – Their coach is dull, but their uniforms are sharp.
Dallas Cowboys – A classic look, I like the blue jerseys better than the white.
Fashion Faux Pas
Green Bay Packers – Who designed these putrid colors? Would you want to be seen in public with these pants?
Tampa Bay Bucs – Was pewter the best you could do? God these things are hideous..
Tennessee Titans – These two-tone jerseys are the worst, got to be the worst jerseys in the NFL.
Seattle Seahawks – I hate the matching dark jersey/pants combo they wear. Several teams do it and they all suck.
Cincinnati Bengals – No list could be complete without these Tony the Tiger helmets and uniforms. How can you take this team seriously?
Dishonorable Mention
Buffalo Bills – especially when they wear the blue jerseys/blue pants…
Denver Broncos – Why they changed to these crappy duds, I’ll never know.
