2019 Pocono 400 Odds & Predictions: Favorites and Bad Bets at Pocono Raceway

2019 Pocono 400 Odds2019 Pocono 400 Odds & Predictions – Favorites and Bad Bets at Pocono Raceway: After Charlotte Motor Speedway hosted the All-Star Race and the Coca-Cola 600 in back-to-back weeks, the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series changes venues this weekend with a trip to Pocono Raceway. One of the unique stops on the schedule, the triangular-shaped, 2.5-mile track challenges drivers with three sets of corners that all have their own configuration.

Not surprisingly, it can be tough to find a comfortable setup that works in every corner of the track, and the battle for track position can be ferocious on restarts and on pit road. While the pit strategy game can allow for a surprise winner on occasion, plenty of big names have thrived at “The Tricky Triangle.”

Let’s take a closer look at my top betting options and some big names I’ll be avoiding for Sunday’s Pocono 400 at Pocono Raceway. If you want to place a BET on the 2019 Pocono 400, open a sportsbook account at BOVADA and get a 50% BONUS upto $250 FREE on your 1st deposit!

2019 Pocono 400 Odds & Predictions: Favorites and Bad Bets at Pocono Raceway

Favorites to Bet

Kyle Busch (3/1)

Believe it or not, Busch used to struggle at Pocono early in his career. Those days are long gone, and he enters Sunday’s race riding a streak of five straight top-10s here, and he has won two of the last three races at the track. In fact, Busch has led double-digit laps in each of the last four races at Pocono, leading more than 50 laps three times. Busch has been a threat to win just about every race in 2019, and it should be business as usual Sunday at Pocono.

Kevin Harvick (7/2)

While he has never won a race at Pocono, Harvick has been knocking on the door for years. He has a series-best 8.5 average finish over the last 10 races here, and his eight top-10s and seven top-five finishes in that same stretch are also the most of any driver. Harvick has finished fourth or better in each of the last five races at Pocono, leading a race-high 89 laps last June and leading 30 more laps in the July race. He’s basically a lock to be battling for the win Sunday.

Martin Truex Jr. (6/1)

Truex keeps building momentum, and after his win in last weekend’s Coca-Cola 600, he is now tied for the series lead with three victories in 2019. He also happens to be the defending winner of Sunday’s race, and Truex has two wins in the last eight races at Pocono, leading laps in six of those starts and leading 30-plus laps in two of the last three. Keep riding his hot hand at one of his best tracks.

Brad Keselowski (7/1)

Over the last 10 races at Pocono, Keselowski’s seven top-five finishes are tied for the most in the series, and six of those have come in the last seven races alone. He has also led laps in six of the last seven races at Pocono, so Keselowski is no stranger to running up front at this track. He’s already tied for the series lead with three wins in 2019, and now he gets to head to a track where he has been a consistent contender. I like his chances at grabbing victory No. 4 Sunday.

Big Name to Avoid

Joey Logano (10/1)

The defending series champ is having himself an excellent 2019 season, but the former Pocono winner is in a bit of a slump at this track. He has finished outside the top 20 in four of the last five races here, and while bad luck has played a role, Logano just hasn’t shown the speed he needs to win here for a few years. At these odds, I’d rather take one of the other big names who have been locked in at Pocono.
