2019 Food City 300 Odds & Predictions: Favorites, Value Bets & Sleepers at Bristol Motor Speedway

2019 Food City 300 Odds2019 Food City 300 Odds & Predictions – Favorites, Value Bets & Sleepers at Bristol Motor Speedway: Sandwiched between a stretch of three road course events in four races is Friday night’s Food City 300 at Bristol Motor Speedway. It is the second time the XFINITY Series has visited the half-mile short track in 2019, but you might not know it from a quick glance at the entry list. With the Cup Series also making a stop in Thunder Valley, there is a loaded field on tap for this one.

Former Cup Series champions Kyle Busch and Joey Logano highlight the stacked lineup, and while having big names in the field normally eliminates the rest of the field from contention, that isn’t necessarily the case at Bristol.

Short tracks mean bumping and banging and wrecking, and it is easy for any driver to become a victim of somebody else’s mess. I wouldn’t rule out some of the top XFINITY regulars this weekend, and thanks to those Cup stars being in the field, the best series regulars are available to much longer odds than you typically can find. Make sure to try to take advantage.

2019 Food City 300 Odds & Predictions: Favorites, Value Bets & Sleepers at Bristol Motor Speedway

Favorites to Bet

Kyle Busch (+150)

One of the most talented and experienced road racers in NASCAR today, Allmendinger has made four road course starts at the XFINITY level, picking up two wins and two second-place finishes. He has led double-digit laps in all four of those road course starts, and his only start a Mid-Ohio, Allmendinger led 73 of his 94 laps on his way to the win. If you like playing it safe, he’s your best bet for a win Saturday.

Erik Jones (+440)

He wasn’t originally scheduled to be in this race, but now that Jeffrey Earnhardt is no longer working with Joe Gibbs Racing, Jones will pilot the No. 81 XCI Racing machine, a satellite team of Joe Gibbs Racing. He has four top-10s in five XFINITY starts at Bristol, and he has led more than 20 laps in his last three races here, winning two of those. Look for Jones to be the main threat to his Cup Series teammate, Kyle Busch, and he offers more room for profit.

Value Bets

Christopher Bell (+550)

He is tied for the series lead with five wins in 2019, and Bell actually owns the best winning percentage in XFINITY Series history at short tracks. One of those wins came at Bristol early this year, and he has led double-digit laps in all three of his starts here, finishing second in the night race last season. Even with so many Cup stars in the field, Bell is one of the top alternative bets if you are fading Kyle Busch.

Joey Logano (+650)

Despite being one of the most accomplished drivers in the field with excellent numbers at Bristol, Logano is only getting the fourth-best odds to win Friday night. He has cracked the top 10 in nine straight XFINITY starts here, winning twice and logging six top-five finishes. Heck, he once led all 300 laps here in a win at Bristol. After Kyle Busch, Logano is probably the best bet on the board in terms of value and performance.

Tyler Reddick (+1760)

Yes, there are multiple Cup stars in the field, but of the three XFIINITY regulars who have dominated the 2019 season, Reddick has the longest odds to win by a wide margin, and that means lot of upside. He has finished 11th in all four of his starts at Bristol, and he led 61 laps on his way to a second-place finish here in the spring. You won’t see Reddick available at these odds again any time soon.

Justin Allgaier (+1980)

Allgaier remains winless in 2019, but it hasn’t been from a lack of speed. More importantly, he has been excellent at Bristol throughout his career. He has finished in the top five in five of his seven starts at the track with JR Motorsports, and he led a race-high 138 laps here back in the spring. In fact, Allgaier has led at least 40 laps in three of the last four races at Bristol. He’s getting long odds because of the stacked field, but he is good enough at Bristol to make some noise.

Sleeper Special

Chase Briscoe (+5500)

He was my sleeper the last time the XFINITY Series visited a short track, and Briscoe delivered by passing Christopher Bell in the closing laps to pick up the win at Iowa. He has now cracked the top 10 in all four of the short tracks races in 2019, so at the very least, he should be close enough to the front to have a chance to steal the win.
