2019 Coca-Cola 600 Odds & Predictions: Favorites & Bad Bets at Charlotte Motor Speedway

2019 Coca Cola 600 Odds2019 Coca-Cola 600 Odds & Predictions – Favorites & Bad Bets at Charlotte Motor Speedway: For the second time in as many weeks, the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series is visiting Charlotte Motor Speedway. After hosting the All-Star Race last Saturday, the 1.5-mile, D-shaped oval will play host to the longest race of the season, the Coca-Cola 600.

Sunday night’s 400-lap marathon is one of the most challenging races of the year for all aspects of a race team, and it is also one of the most prestigious events in the sport. Held in the heart of NASCAR country and the backyard of many race teams, every driver wants to say they were able to outlast the competition and win “The 600.”

2019 Coca-Cola 600 Odds & Predictions: Favorites & Bad Bets at Charlotte Motor Speedway

Favorites to Bet

Kyle Busch (3/1)

Busch already has three wins under his belt in 2019, and it wouldn’t be a surprise to see him add No. 4 Sunday night. After all, he dominated the field in last year’s Coca-Cola 600, sweeping all three stages while leading 377 of the 400 laps. Busch has now led more than 20 laps in each of the last three races at Charlotte, and after qualifying third, he’s perfectly positioned to jump out front and run away from the competition once again.

Kevin Harvick (9/2)

He has been stout at the mile-and-a-half tracks since joining Stewart-Haas Racing, and in nine starts at Charlotte with SHR, Harvick has five finishes of third or better and has led double-digit laps six times, leading at least 100 laps three times. This year, bad pit stops have cost him a shot at a few wins at the 1.5-mile ovals, but Harvick still leads the series in points scored and laps led in those four races. He will have a car capable of winning Sunday night.

Martin Truex Jr. (6/1)

The best value among the frontrunners this weekend has to be Truex. He is in the middle of an incredible stretch at Charlotte, finishing in the Top 5 in six of the last seven races here. He has finished third or better five times in that same stretch, winning twice and leading more than 90 laps four times. Perhaps mostly importantly, Truex has been at his best in the Coca-Cola 600, leading well over 100 laps in the event in three of the last four years.

Brad Keselowski (7/1)

He’s a former winner at Charlotte, and with seven Top 10s in the last 10 races here, it has been a good track for Keselowski. However, his performance in the four races at mile-and-a-half ovals in 2019 is what really has my attention. He had a part failure at Texas, but he went to victory lane at Atlanta and Kansas, and he was the runner-up at Las Vegas. Keselowski also led double-digit laps in all three of those races. He seems to have the new rules package figured out when it comes to tracks like Charlotte.

Big Name to Avoid

Joey Logano (8/1)

Logano is a former winner at Charlotte, but also happens to be one of the few tracks where he struggles with consistency. Even since joining Team Penske, he just can’t seem to find a setup he likes at this place. Logano has managed just four top-10s in 11 starts here in the No. 22, and he has finished outside the top 20 in each of the last four races. It would be one thing if I was getting a discount, but at these odds, I’d much rather take a chance on the big names who have a stronger track history at Charlotte.
