2019 Circle K Firecracker 250 Odds & Predictions: Daytona International Speedway

2019 Circle K Firecracker 250 Odds & Predictions – Daytona International Speedway: The NASCAR XFINITY Series returns to Daytona International Speedway this weekend for some superspeedway action under the lights. The most famous track in the sport will host Friday’s Circle K Firecracker 250, and while the Cup Series is also in town, we don’t have any full-time Cup stars pulling double duty.

Thanks to the dependence on the draft and the pack racing that develops at superspeedways, races at Daytona and Talladega are always among the toughest to predict. Attrition is high, and without any big names in the field, drivers know that this may be their best chance to steal a win and secure a spot in the playoffs. I expect them to race like it.

With that in mind, this is one race when I tend to avoid betting heavily on the favorites and instead stick to the value bets. This is also a race when I will take fliers on several drivers getting longer odds. In the last two years alone, Spencer Gallagher and Michael Annett are among the drivers who have used the superspeedways to secure their first career XFINITY wins. Don’t be afraid to roll the dice on some longshots when placing your bets for the Circle K Firecracker 250 at Daytona.

Favorites to Bet

Tyler Reddick (+500)

Reddick has been enjoying an amazing season, and he continues to build an impressive resume at the superspeedways. He has four top-10s in his last five starts, winning the opener at Daytona last year and picking up the win at Talladega back in April. Reddick has also led laps in four of those five races, leading double-digit laps twice. Betting on favorites at superspeedways is far from a sure thing, but Reddick is your best bet to be in the mix for the win.

Justin Allgaier (+500)

JR Motorsports has been a force at the superspeedways for years, and Allgaier has been a big part of the team’s success. He has logged a series-best six top-10s in the last 10 superspeedway events, leading laps in five of those starts and picking up three second-place finishes. Allgaier is on the short list of drivers who seem to always be at the front when it matters most at Daytona and Talladega.

Value Bets

Austin Cindric (+1400)

Cindric was a dart without feathers as a rookie last year, but his consistency has taken a huge step forward in 2019. He has also figured out how to take advantage of the excellent superspeedway equipment produced by Team Penske, and Cindric has opened the year with top-five finishes at both Daytona and Talladega. No other driver has logged top-five finishes in both superspeedway events, so he is as locked in as any driver out there heading into Friday night’s return trip to Daytona.

Noah Gragson (+2000)

The sample size isn’t huge, but Gragson has shown an immediate feel for superspeedway racing. He has finished 11th or better in all three of his starts, posting an 8.3 average finish and leading 19 laps at Talladega earlier this year. He also happens to drive for JR Motorsports, and I’m not sure any organization has a stronger superspeedway program. He has the talent and the equipment to make some noise this weekend, and at +2000, there is plenty of room for profit.

Justin Haley (+2500)

Unlike a lot of drivers, Haley already knows he can cross the finish line first at Daytona because that is exactly what he did in the July race last season. Unfortunately, his last-lap pass for the win was deemed illegal. By the letter of the law the move did warrant a penalty, but Haley proved to be a savvy superspeedway driver nonetheless. He also led laps in the opener at Daytona this season and logged a top-10 at Talladega in April. Haley is a serious threat for the win Friday night, and he could be a steal at these odds.

Sleeper Special

Austin Hill (+5000)

Hill will be making his XFINITY Series debut this weekend, but despite the lack of experience, he shouldn’t be overlooked. He will be driving for Hattori Racing Enterprises, and earlier this year, Hill went to victory lane in the Truck Series race at Daytona while driving for the same organization. He is also an aggressive, unapologetic driver, so he won’t be intimidated or afraid to make bold moves Friday night. At +5000, I think it is worth a small bet to see if Hill can pick up another Daytona win.
