Vegas odds to win the 2010 National League East, Central and West Divisons are now posted on NSAwins.com for the 2010 MLB Baseball season. Vegas oddsmakers have made the Philadelphia Phillies a -180 favorite to win the National League East this season with the Atlanta Braves a distant second at +260. The Phillies look to be shoo-in to win the NL East again this season and challenge for their 3rd straight National League pennant. The Phillies traded last year’s ace Cliff Lee to the Seattle Mariners in a three-team trade in the offseason that brought them back ace Roy Halladay from the Toronto Blue Jays. The veteran right-hander is one of the leading candidates to win the NL Cy Young and should help the Phillies win the NL East by 10 plus games. In the Central Division, vegas linemakers have made the St Louis Cardinals a -170 favorite with the Chicago Cubs a distant second at +170. Like the Phillies in the East, the Cardinals should have no trouble winning the NL Central thanks to a strong 1-2 top of the rotation order with right-handers Adam Wainwright and Chris Carpenter. Both hurlers combined to go 36-12 last season for the Cardinals and should be able to duplicate that at mininum this season for a St Louis team that should score plenty of runs with Albert Pujols and Matt Holiday in the middle of the lineup. Out West, the Los Angeles Dodgers are the +175 favorite to win the division followed by the Colorado Rockies(+240), San Francisco Giants(+240) and Arizona Diamondbacks(+275) in what looks like it could be a four team race for the division crown. The Dodgers won the division last season and return basically the same team. They are the favorite, but failed to improve so have fallen back to the pack. The Giants have a dominant pitching staff led by the 2008 and 2009 NL Cy Young Award winner, Tim Lincecum, but their defense is brutal. The Rockies have the most young talent of all the teams out west and a superb veteran bench, but their bullpen is a big question mark. The Diamonbacks will be in the mix if 2006 NL Cy Young Award winner Brandon Webb returns from the disabled list and regains his top shelf form, but that is a big “if”.
