Vegas odds to win the 2010 American League East, Central and West Divisons are now posted on NSAwins.com with the 2010 MLB Baseball season set to get underway Sunday, April 4th with New York Yankees playing the Boston Red Sox at Fenway Park at 8:05 PM EST on ESPN. Vegas oddsmakers have made the New York Yankees a -125 favorite to win the American League East this season with Boston a close second at even money(+100). The Yankees added Curtis Granderson in the offseason to replace Johnny Damon in the outfield and that should be a significant upgrade for the Bronx Bombers. The Red Sox, meanwhile, bolstered their starting rotation in free agency by signing former Angels hurler John Lackey to solidy a rotation that may have the best 1-2-3 guys(Josh Beckett, Jon Lester, Lackey) of anyone in MLB Baseball. In the Central Division, vegas linemakers have made the Chicago White Sox a +140 favorite followed closely by the Minnesota Twins at +145. The White Sox will have a healthy Jake Peavy to start the season and that should make an already strong starting pitching rotation even stronger. The White Sox starters gave up the 2nd fewest earned runs(453) in the American League last season. The Twins should be solid offensively and defensively like usual, but they must find a way to replace closer Joe Nathan who had Tommy John elbow surgery in the offseason and is out for the season. In the West, the Los Angeles Angels are the +140 favorite to win the division with the Seattle Mariners(+195) and Texas Rangers(+200) having the 2nd and 3rd best odds in what should be a three team race. The Angels lack a bonafide ace with Lackey departing for Boston, but they still have the division’s best starting rotation from the #1 starter to the #5 starter. Last season’s #5 starter, Joel Pineiro, had 15 wins and the Angels’ bullpen is one of the best in all of baseball. Seattle might have the league’s top #1 and #2 pitching aces to lead a rotation in Felix Hernandez and Cliff Lee, but lack punch in the middle of their lineup so scoring runs will be a big issue for the Mariners.
