Week 7 College Football Power Rankings from NSAwins.com – Alabama the New #1 Team

NSAwins.com has posted it’s Week 7 College Football Power Rankings for the 2009 season. The following rankings are compiled by taking the Top 25 votes sent to us from NSAwins.com’s Sports Handicapping Experts(The LEGEND, Gerry “BIG CAT” Andino, Lou Panelli, Steve “SCOOP” Kendall, and William E. Stockton), as well as from NSAwins.com’s “FINAL SCORE REPORT” blog’s founders and contributing authors(Stephen G. and David E.). These rankings will be updated every monday throughout the College Football regular season and after the completion of the Bowl Season. Please keep in mind that these power rankings are based on current records and performances and not a prediction on how we think teams will end up at the end of the season or how two teams would fare if they
played one another. Below is the Week 7 College Football Top 25 power rankings from NSAwins.com.

NSAwins.com’s Week 7 College Football Top 25

This Week’s “SUPER 15″(Teams Ranked 1-15 in NSAwins.com’s Poll)

NOTE: ALL Records thru October 4, 2009
RK(LW), TEAM, RECORD
#1(3) – Alabama Crimson Tide 6-0 How can we move the Tide up from #3 to #1 after both Florida and Texas remained undefeated? Simple. The Tide have simply been the most consistent and dominant team all season. Period. Nick Saban’s team’s impressive 22-3 road win at Ole Miss sealed the deal for our expert voting panel. The Tide have beaten every team they played by at least 10 points including their season opening 34-24 win over a strong Va Tech squad. The Tide deserve to be #1.
#2(1) Florida Gators 5-0 The Gators took care of business against a very good LSU team 13-3 on the road saturday. However, the Gators simply don’t appear to be anywhere near as dominant or hungry as they were last season. The Gators have a lot of improving to do if they want to get past Alabama later this season in what should be a great SEC Championship matchup.
#3(2) – Texas Longhorns 5-0 The Horns had the week off last week and face the Sooners in what should be a helluva battle this saturday in Dallas. The Horns had best bring their “A” game for the first time all season, however, as you had best believe Oklahoma will come out highly motivated to try and salvage their season from becoming an absolute disaster with potentially their 3rd loss already this season.
#4(5) – Virginia Tech Hokies 5-1 The Hokies crushed a solid BC team 48-14 at home saturday. IMPRESSIVE! Frank Beamer’s squad just keeps on getting better and better as the season progresses. Don’t be surprised if VA Tech sneaks into the National Title game if there is only one undefeated team by the end of the regular season. The Hokies are that good folks.
#5(6) – TCU Horned Frogs 5-0 The Horned Frogs brought their “C” game last week at Air Force and still won 20-17. TCU lost the turnover battle 3-0 and that allowed an average Air Force team to hang close. Expect Gary Patterson’s club to be crisp this week and blow out a mediocre Colorado St team at home. Lay the -22 points.
#6(7) – USC Trojans 4-1 The Trojans had a bye week. They travel to Notre Dame this week to take on The FRAUD(AKA Charlie Weis) and the Irish. Don’t expect a slip up. USC will win comfortably.
#7(8) – Ohio St Buckeyes 5-1 The Buckeyes are quietly putting together an impressive season. They haven’t beaten anyone good but they are hammering everyone that they should. Their season will come down to their final three games @ Penn St, at home vs Iowa and @ Michigan.
#8(4) – LSU Tigers 5-1 LSU played Florida tough just like we thought they would. The Tigers offense really let them down, however, and must improve dramatically if they want to go into Alabama and beat Saban in a few weeks.
#9(9) – Miami Hurricanes 4-1 The Canes rolled over Fla A&M 48-16 and look like they will run the table until their final regular season game @ South Florida. Who would have thought that that would be a matchup of potentially Top 20 clubs before the season began?
#10(10) – Boise St Broncos 5-0 Boise St is #5 and #6 in the two big polls(AP, USA Today) and we can’t figure out why. Did anyone else watch the way Fresno St absolutely ran the ball down their throats a few weeks ago rolling up about 500 total yards of offense? Don’t be surprised if Boise St loses outright tonight @ Tulsa.
#11(11) – Cincinnati Bearcats 5-0 Bye week for the Bearcats last week. Huge game this thursday at South Florida. We finally get to see if the Bearcats are for real or not after playing 5 average to subpar teams thus far.
#12(12) – Oklahoma St 4-1 Solid win at Texas A&M 36-31 last saturday. Big game this saturday night at home versus a good Missouri team. We still have high hopes for OSU this season and feel they are capable of getting to a BCS bowl. Look for the Cowboys to play their best game of the season this saturday.
#13(13) – Kansas Jayhawks 5-0 We may have this team too high. They are 5-0 but who have they beat? Northern Colorado, UTEP, Duke, So Miss and Iowa St. Not exactly the big boys, right? We’ll find out more about the Jayhawks after they paste Colorado this week and begin the meat of their schedule with a game vs Oklahoma in Lawrence in two weeks.
#14(14) – Oregon Ducks 5-1 The Ducks didn’t wake up until the 2nd half last saturday at UCLA but ended up dominating and beating a pretty good UCLA team 24-10 on the road. This team can play folks. They must avoid a letdown this week at Washington and not get caught looking ahead to a huge home game vs USC in two weeks.
#15(15) – Nebraska Cornhuskers 5-1 – We told you in last week’s rankings that Bo Pelini’s crew would get it done at Missouri and they did going away in an outstanding 4th quarter last thursday night where they outscored Mizzu 27-0 to win 27-12. The Huskers are for real friends.

BEST of the REST(Teams Ranked 16-25)

#16(16) – Iowa Hawkeyes 6-0
#17(20) – BYU Cougars 5-1
#18(21) – Penn St Nittany Lions 5-1
#19(22) – Oklahoma Sooners 3-2
#20(23) – Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets 5-1
#21(24) – South Florida Bulls 5-0
#22(NR) – Houston Cougars 4-1
#23(NR) – Utah Utes 4-1
#24(NR) – South Carolina 5-1
