Oregon Ducks at USC Trojans 2010 NCAAF Week 9 Odds, Preview, Predictions

Oregon Ducks at USC Trojans 2010 NCAAF Week 9 Odds, Preview, and Predictions:  Head Football Coach Chip Kelly will lead his undefeated No. 1 Oregon Ducks on the road to the Los Angeles Coliseum to take on first year head football coach Lane Kiffin’s No. 24 USC Trojans on Saturday night at 8:00 PM ET on ABC.  The No. 1’s have been falling off the pedestal in the last few weeks since Alabama lost to South Carolina on the road for their first defeat.  USC can look at this as their chance to show the nation how good they are since sanctions will keep them from playing in a bowl game.  Coach Kelly is concerned with the talented group USC puts on the field especially an offense that is averaging over 37 points per game behind sophomore quarterback Matt Barkley.  “The ball is more in Barkley’s hands now than before,” Oregon coach Chip Kelly said. “He’s talented. He’s thrown the most touchdowns in this league, sixth in the country in pass efficiency, he’s doing a really, really nice job. … They’re a handful again offensively.”  Vegas odds makers have the Oregon Ducks a -6 1/2 point favorite on the road against the USC Trojans.

The Ducks are coming off a big Pac 10 victory 60-13 a week ago Thursday at home against UCLA.  Quarterback Darron Thomas completed 22 of 31 passes for 308 yards and 3 touchdowns and also ran the ball 5 times for another 48 yards hitting Jeff Maehl with 8 balls for 107 yards and a score.  Heisman candidate running back LaMichael James continued to impress voters with 20 carries for 123 yards and 2 touchdowns.  Oregon is 6-1 SU in its last 7 games on the road and 4-2 ATS this season.  Vegas odds makers have LaMichael James at +350 odds to win the Heisman Trophy.

USC is also coming off a big Pac 10 victory 48-14 at home against Cal.  Quarterback Matt Barkley completed 25 of 37 passes for 352 yards and 5 touchdowns hitting wide out Robert Woods 7 times for 116 yards and 2 touchdowns.  Barkley has already thrown for 20 touchdowns on the season.  The total has gone UNDER in 4 of Southern Cal’s last 5 games when playing Oregon and USC is 3-4 ATS this season.  Odds makers at SBG Global have the over/under for the total score at 70 points combined of the Oregon Ducks and USC Trojans.
