Missouri Tigers versus Iowa Hawkeyes 2010 Insight Bowl Odds, Preview, and Predictions:  Head football coach Gary Pinkel will lead his Missouri Tigers to Sun Devil Stadium to take on the Iowa Hawkeyes on Tuesday night at 10:00 PM ET for the Insight Bowl on ESPN.  The Tigers enter the game on a 3 game win streak at 10-2 1st in the Big 12 North but back to back losses to Nebraska and Texas Tech kept them out of the Big 12 Championship game but a win in the Insight Bowl would give them 11 victories tying their best season ever. “We really got better as the year went on,” Coach Gary Pinkel said. “We had a lot of players who had really good years. That’s why we’re 10-2.”

Iowa enters the game at 7-5 4th in the Big Ten a disappointing record for a team that entered the season as no. 9 in the country.  The Hawkeyes are on a three game losing streak and have endured the arrest of their all-time leading receiver and the benching of their top running back and face the Tigers for the first time in 100 years. “To finish up like we did, I think, left certainly a real bad taste in everybody’s mouth,” coach Kirk Ferentz said. “We’re anxious to get back on the field and have a chance to compete again.” Vegas odds makers have the Missouri Tigers a -2 1/2 point favorite at Sun Devil Stadium against the Iowa Hawkeyes.

The Tigers most recent victory came 35-7 at home against the Kansas Jayhawks moving them to 6-5 ATS for the season.  Quarterback Blaine Gabbert completed 16 of 26 passes for 179 yards and 2 picks while running the ball 11 times for 31 yards and a score.  Running back Kendial Lawrence carried 10 times for 75 yards and a 31 yard touchdown run.  Missouri is 10-2 SU in its last 12 games and the total has gone UNDER in 4 of Missouri’s last 5 games.

Iowa’s most recent defeat came at the hands of Minnesota 27-24 to move the Hawkeyes to 5-5-1 ATS for the season.  Quarterback Ricky Stanzi completed 10 of 22 passes for 127 yards and 2 touchdowns also rushing 3 times for 6 yards.  Iowa is 1-4-1 ATS in its last 6 games.  Odds makers at SportsInterAction have the over/under for the total score at 47 points combined of the Missouri Tigers and Iowa Hawkeyes.

I predict a big win for the Missouri Tigers!
