Iowa Hawkeyes at Michigan Wolverines 2010 NCAAF Week 7 Odds, Preview, Predictions

Iowa Hawkeyes at Michigan Wolverines 2010 NCAAF Week 7 Odds, Preview, and Predictions:  Head football coach Rich Rodrigez and his No. 17 Michigan Wolverines will host the No. 16 Iowa Hawkeyes in Ann Arbor on Saturday at 3:30 PM ET at Michigan Stadium on ABC.  Michigan will face the tough Hawkeye defense, but twice as importance they will have to show the ability to bounce back from a loss and win within the tough Big Ten Conference they failed miserably at last season.  “Our young guys are going to make mistakes, but we have to get better fundamentally. At some point, we have to make sure we don’t forget the fundamental parts of playing football.” — Michigan head coach Rich Rodriguez on dealing with the excess of youth in his program and the mistakes they made last week.

Iowa has a stout defense allowing more than 7 points just once this season but they are still concerned about Michigan’s sensational dual threat quarterback Denard Robinson.  “He’s a very dynamic football player, very explosive player, and with that offense they give you,” it presents an awful lot of challenges,” Iowa coach Kirk Ferentz said. “They try to spread the field and basically have an extra man on the field because they’ve got a guy that can not only throw it, but he can run the ball. He’s very dangerous.”  Vegas odds makers have the Iowa Hawkeyes a -3 point favorite on the road against the Michigan Wolverines.

Iowa is coming off conference opening win at home 24-3 against Penn State.  Quarterback Ricky Stanzi completed 16 of 22 passes for 227 yards a touchdown and a pick while rushing 6 times for 9 yards and another score.  Running back Adam Robinson rushed 28 times for 95 yards to round out the Hawkeyes balance attack.  The defense also scored a touchdown on an interception return.  The total has gone UNDER in 6 of Iowa’s last 8 games on the road.  Vegas odds makers have the Iowa Hawkeyes +3000 odds to win the 2011 BCS National Championship.

Michigan lost at home 34-17 last week to in state rival Michigan State.  Heisman hopeful Denard Robinson completed 17 of 29 passes for 215 yards and a touchdown but uncharacteristically threw 3 picks stalling important drives.  Robinson also carried 21 times for 86 yards and another score.  The defense which is last in the Big Ten will need to find a way to get some stops along with limiting the turnovers to win against Iowa.  Odds makers at JustBet have the over/under for the total score at 53 1/2 points combined of the Iowa Hawkeyes and Michigan Wolverines.

I think the Wolverines have matured predict they will bounce back with a win at the Big House! Note: Rich Fritz is a Blog Writer on NSAwins.com and not a pro handicapper.
