Florida State Seminoles vs South Carolina Gamecocks 2010 Chick-fil-A Bowl Odds, Preview, Predictions

Florida State Seminoles versus South Carolina Gamecocks 2010 Chick-fil-A Bowl Odds, Preview, and Predictions:  First year head football coach Jimbo Fisher will lead the Florida State Seminoles to the Georgia Dome to take on the Ole Ball Coach Steve Spurrier and his South Carolina Gamecocks in the 2010 Chick-fil-A Bowl on Friday at 7:30 PM ET on ESPN.  The Seminoles enter the game 9-4 1st in the Atlantic Coast Atlantic while the Gamecocks are also 9-4 1st in the Southeastern Conference East.  “We’re fired up about it. Florida State is a great team,” Spurrier told his school’s official website. “It’s almost the exact same year they’ve had that we’ve had (at) 9-4 and (they) lost the conference championship game.” “We’re excited about returning to Atlanta and playing in the Chick-fil-A Bowl,” Spurrier said. “If we’re ever going to win the SEC championship, we’re going to have to win a game in the Georgia Dome and this gives us another opportunity to play there.”  The teams have a lot of similarities with how their seasons have gone but only one of them will end with a victory.  Vegas odds makers have the South Carolina Gamecocks a -3 point favorite at Georgia Dome against the Florida State Seminoles.

The Seminoles are coming off a loss in the ACC Championship game 44-33 against the Virginia Tech Hokies to move to 6-6 ATS for the season.  Quarterback EJ Manuel completed 22 of 31 passes for 288 yards a touchdown and 2 picks also running the ball 11 times for 9 yards.  “I like the direction we’re going,” Florida State coach Jimbo Fisher said. “I told our players, I thanked them for the work they did and setting a standard of how to do things, how to prepare and how to practice.  “And our young guys have to carry that legacy on. There’s a lot of guys that have been in this situation. I think the environment was good for them to learn from.”  The total has gone UNDER in 8 of Florida State’s last 11 games.

The Gamecocks are coming off a loss to No. 1 Auburn in the SEC Championship game at the Georgia Dome 56-17 and finished the season 7-5 ATS.  Quarterback Stephen Garcia completed 16 of 28 passes for 170 yards 2 touchdowns and 2 picks while rushing 7 times for an additional 18 yards.  The total has gone OVER in 7 of South Carolina’s last 10 games.  Odds makers at SBG Global have the over/under for the total score at 54 1/2 points combined of the Florida State Seminoles and South Carolina Gamecocks.

I predict a Florida State Victory. Go Noles!
