2009 Big 12 Football Championship Odds – Texas the Favorite

The Odds to Win the 2009 Big 12 Football Championship are now posted on NSAwins.com and vegas oddsmakers have made Texas the 1/1(+120) favorite. Mack Brown’s Longhorns welcome back 14 starters from a team that went 12-1 in 2008, including a last-minute win in the Fiesta Bowl over Ohio St. Despite that impressive record and BCS win, the team still felt it was snubbed when Oklahoma was chosen over them to play in the Big 12 title game even though the Longhorns beat the Sooners 45-35 in Dallas. That snub, accompanied with Oklahoma’s Josh Heupel winning the Heisman over Colt McCoy, should give the Longhorns all the motivation they need when they play their top rival in Dallas on October 17th. Speaking of the Sooners, vegas linemakers have given OU 1.5/1(+175) odds to win the Big 12 again this season. Bob Stoops will have Heupel back to lead what should be one of the nation’s top offensive units again this season and 21 players return to Norman that have some starting experience. The Sooners will be plenty motivated to get back to the national championship game this season after losing to Florida last year, while also looking to get the national naysayers off their back after going 0-5 in their last 5 BCS bowl games. Outside of Texas and Oklahoma, vegas oddsmakers have given Kansas(2.5/1, +250), Nebraska(3/1, +295), and Oklahoma St(8/1, +825) the next best odds to win the Big 12 title. NSAwins.com’s official prediction to win the Big 12 Conference Championship this season is Texas, as we feel the Longhorns have the best talent across the board and are extremely motivated to take the league title after last season’s snub.
