NSAwins.com has posted it’s new Week 2 NFL Power Rankings for the 2009 Season. Pittsburgh maintains it’s #1 ranking after a close win over Tennessee in their opener, while the Patriots, Giants, Chargers, and Eagles round out the top 5. Our NFL Power Rankings are compiled by taking votes from NSAwins.com’s expert handicappers(The LEGEND, Gerry “BIG CAT” Andino, Lou Panelli, Steve “SCOOP” Kendall, William E. Stockton) and NSAwins.com’s “FINAL SCORE REPORT” blog’s co-founders(David E and Stephen G). Please keep in mind that these POWER RANKINGS are derived from a consensus poll among the seven voters described above, but these POWER RANKINGS do not indicate who we would advise our sports betting clients to bet on if teams matched up with one another. Anyway, here are the 2009 NFL Week 2 POWER RANKINGS from NSAwins.com. Enjoy.

NSAwins.com’s Week 2 2009 NFL Power Rankings

RK, LW, TEAM, RECORD
#1 (1) Pittsburgh Steelers 1-0 Big Ben proved why he belongs in the discussion along Manning and Brady for the NFL’s best quarterback.
#2 (2) New England Patriots 1-0 Tom Brady looked good for his first regular season action in over a year. The defense, however, better get better fast or else the Pats might struggle against better competition.
#3 (3) NY Giants 1-0 The Gmen never wow anyone, but they just play sound, consistent, hard-nosed, gritty football.
#4 (4) San Diego Chargers 1-0 The Chargers looked ordinary monday night, but it was only week one people. When they had to come through they did.
#5 (5) Philadelphia Eagles 1-0 We had Carolina ranked #20 in our preseason NFL power rankings so it came as no surprise that the Eagles whooped them 38-10. In fact, NSAwin.com’s The LEGEND won his 20* NFL BLOWOUT GAME of the YEAR sunday on the Eagles.
#6 (6) Indianapolis Colts 1-0 Indy is playing for a new coach so it may take time before they are all on the same page. The offense looked pedestrian versus Jacksonville. Let’s take a wait and see approach before we knock the Colts down.
#7 (8) – Atlanta Falcons 1-0 Like we said in the preseason rankings, the Atlanta defense will determine how far the Falcons can go in 2009. Week 1 was a step in the right direction after dominating Miami.
#8 (7) – Baltimore Ravens 1-0 Who were those guys playing defense for the Ravens sunday versus KC? That couldn’t have been the Ravens D we have grown accustomed to seeing DOMINATE lightweights could it? Wow, they looked bad. But, again, it was only week one.
#9 (12) – Dallas Cowboys 1-0 The Boys were impressive down in Tampa. We still don’t like Wade Phillips at all, but the Boys sure do have a ton of talent and can beat anyone when they bring their “A” game.
#10 – Tennessee Titans 0-1 No shame in losing an overtime game at Pittsburgh. Solid first outing by the Titans defense.
#11 (11) – New Orleans Saints 1-0 Drew Brees is a stud. Period. If he can start winning in the postseason, than you have to put him in the same class as Brady, Manning, and Big Ben. He’s that good.
#12 (14) – Minnesota Vikings 1-0 Sooner or later Favre is going to kill this team, but for now they will get ranked this high after looking impressive on the road in Cleveland.
#13 (16) – Seattle Seahawks 1-0 We said last week don’t be surprised if Seattle wins the West. These guys are good friends. A 28-0 over St Louis doesn’t mean much considering the Rams stink, but it does show us that the Hawks are buying into Mora Jr’s system.
#14 (18) – NY Jets 1-0 Does any team run their mouths more than the J-E-T-S Jets, Jets, Jets? S-H-U-T-U-P, Shutup, Shutup, Shutup ALREADY! Good grief, talk to us when you WIN a playoff game or two at least.
#15 (19) – Green Bay Packers 1-0 Aaron Rodgers delivered in the clutch sunday night and showed why he is(and not Jay Cutler!) the BEST quarterback in that division.
#16 (24) – San Francisco 49ers 1-0 We said we weren’t sold on Singletary as a head coach and don’t expect much from the 49ers this season in our Preseason rankings. For 1 week, at least, they proved us wrong.
#17 (9) – Arizona Cardinals 0-1 This team is really struggling and the Super Bowl “jinx” appears to be alive and well. They better get it together quick or else it may be a long year in the desert.
#18 (13) – Miami Dolphins 0-1 The Dolphins were dominated in Atlanta. It was worse than the final score indicated. It’s tough to get behind this team to do much when they are hanging their hat on Chad Pennington. “Noodle Arm” is not taking the Fins anwhere people.
#19 (15) – Chicago Bears 0-1 Jay Cutler was AWFUL sunday night. Is that what all the hype is about this guy? He has a million dollar arm and a 10 cent head.
#20 (17) – Buffalo Bills 0-1 So much for learning how to win close games. They couldn’t do it in 2008 and 2009 started off the same way with another epic Bills choke job on the big stage. Lord help long-time suffering Bills fans. How many gag jobs can their hearts take?
#21 (25) – Oakland Raiders 0-1 The Raiders showed us more in losing than their AFC West rival Broncos showed us in winning. Good first game by the RAAAYYYDERS.
#22 (22) – Washington Redskins 0-1 We said it last week and we’ll say it again. Jason Campbell is taking this team NOWHERE. He’s a BUM.
#23 (28) – Kansas City Chiefs 0-1 Like the Raiders, we were more impressed with the Chiefs in a tough loss than their AFC West rival Broncos in a fluke win. The Chiefs offense surprised a lot of people sunday at Baltimore. Can they keep it up?
#24 (26) – Denver Broncos 0-1 These guys were seconds away from losing to the Bungles and only mustering up 6 points. They got LUCKY on a fluke play. They still stink.
#25 (23) – Cincinnati Bengals 0-1 Only the Bungles could find a way to lose their opener like that. Are you kidding me? Hey Marvin(aka The so-called Defensive GURU) get your defense BACK. No excuse for letting ANY Bronco get further than the last Cincy defender. Ridiculous.
#26 (20) – Carolina Panthers 0-1 What a bunch of dogs down in Carolina. How do you get blown out 38-10 in your home opener if you are suppossed to be an upper echelon team? Well, the Panthers are WHO WE THOUGHT THEY WERE! We had them ranked lower than everyone in our preseason rankings and they proved us right.
#27 (29) – Jacksonville Jaguars 0-1 They get an “A” for effort. They still stink, but they fought hard in a tough loss at Indy.
#28 (21) – Houston Texans 0-1 We are still waiting for that “breakout” season from the Texans that we always hear about every august. Guess what? It ain’t happening this year.
#29 (27) – St Louis Rams 0-1 Way to show up in your opener Rams. Two words for the Rams: YOU SUCK.
#30 (30) Cleveland Browns 0-1 Again, what exactly was the rush for Cleveland to go out and sign Mangini? The guy CANNOT COACH people. Recognize it. Accept it.
#31 (31) Tampa Bay Bucs 0-1 The Bucs were TERRIBLE in week 1 just like we thought they would be.
#32 (32) Detroit Lions 0-1 Until they win ONE game this is where the Lions belong.
