NFL Week 2 Free Picks – 2010 NFL Predictions from Stephen G.

There are two schools of thought about betting on the NFL in the first couple of weeks…  One is that it is the easiest time of the year to pick winners because the sportsbooks haven’t dialed in yet and as the year progresses, the lines will be more accurate.  Another view is that it’s harder to figure out who’s good and who’s not and it’s difficult to handicap the first few weeks…. Who knows?  All I know is I got off to a good start last week going 6-1-1 in my picks.  Anyway, on to the picks for week 2.  Please note I’m not a professional handicapper or affliated in any way with NSAWins handicapping service.  I am strictly a blog writer…..

Last Week:  6-1-1   86%

Season:    6-1-1  86%

Sunday 9/19

Atlanta (minus 6.5) The Falcons are a much better team at home and Arizona has a 2nd long road trip in 2 weeks.  Give me the Dirty Birds and lay the points.

Minnesota (minus 5.5) The Vikings can really get it going at home and I just don’t see the Dolphins being able to run on them or keep up in the points department.  I say Minny by at least a TD.

San Diego (minus 7)  I guess you are noticing a theme for my picks this week.  Taking quality teams at home in their home openers who lost in week one.  The Jags are just jags….  The Bolts look to get the bad taste out of their mouths from their opener in KC.

Indianapolis (minus 5.5) If you think Indy with Peyton Gump is going to allow baby brother to come in and beat them and put them at 0-2, I’ve got some swamp land to sell you…. (also fits my theme for this week)

Texans (minus 3) We’re going to find out if Houston really has arrived and is ready to challenge Indy for the division.  This game is a must and the Texans are better than Dallas…Okay I said it…..

Monday 9/20

San Francisco (plus 6) Logic says the Niners shouldn’t be on the same field as the Superbowl Champs and I’m sure Johnny Public is all over the Saints given their popularity and San Fran’s putrid opener at Seattle.  Well as I said last week, going against Johnny Public sometimes is what I do so give me the points in what might be a very close game.  San Fran will be desperate and New Orleans might take them a little lightly.

New Orleans/San Francisco (Under 44)  – No particular reason, just like it to be played close to the vest….
