NFL Power Rankings – Week 9

Midway through the year, there are no dominant teams but 6-7 good teams that are good enough to be left standing at year end.  I see Indy, Pitt, Balt, NE as the teams to beat in the AFC and NO and Min and maybe Philly in the NFC….

Rank/Team/Record/LW

HEAVYWEIGHT DIVISION

.Colts 7-0 (1) Laid an egg against the Niners but got away with it.  It happens, it’s tough to get fired up for every game.

.Saints 7-0 (2) Still very good on offense, but the defense scares me.  I can’t wait for the NE game in a couple of weeks….

.Vikings 7-1 (6) Okay, they are better than Green Bay and the best in the NFC North.  Brett Fossil has turned back the clock so far, keep the Geritol coming.

.Patriots 5-2 (4) Coming off 3 bye weeks and should be plenty rested to take on the Ronnie and the Wildcats.

.Steelers 5-2 (5) Another rested team ready to take on the Broncos at Mile High on Monday night where they will try to emulate the Ravens game plan…

.Bengals 5-2 (7) Is this where the Bengals turn into the Bengirls???  A sweep over an angry Raven bunch will impress us….a loss and it’s the same old Bungles

7. Ravens 4-3 (12) They gave Denver a reality check, now they have their sights on Cincinnati..

.Broncos 6-1 (3) Now that they’ve been punched in the mouth, how will they respond?  This week will go a long way in determining just how good this team is…

.Eagles 5-2 (15) Took the G-men to the woodshed and will try to do the same to the Cowgirls this week.  They’re not always pretty, but they are explosive.

.Cowboys 5-2 (11) Big showdown in Philly where they laid down like dogs last year (no pun intended Michael Vick).   Can Son of Bum get them ready to play?

.Texans 5-3 (17) Now if you want to announce your arrival in this league, then go out and beat Indy this week…

.Giants 5-3 (10) What’s happened to Big Blue?  Where is the fight, the physicality?  It’s looking more and more like the Superbowl win over NE was a fluke.  Got hot at the right time and now it’s back to reality…

MIDDLEWEIGHT DIVISION

.Falcons 4-3 (13) Another example against N.O. that they just aren’t good enough to play with the elite teams, especially on the road.

.Chargers 4-3 (16) Like every year, they are hanging around until they get hot, but will they get hot, that is the question…

.Dolphins 3-4 (19) It’s not every week where you get outgained 400-100 yds and still win the game, but I’m sure they’ll take it.  I’m just saying it’s not a good formula, that’s all…

.Cardinals 4-3 (9) What was that?  Just when you think they may be better than advertised and get an impressive win in NY, they do this….  Can you say Pretender???

.Jets 4-4 (14) If they only played as tough in the games as they talk before the games….  Buddy Ryan talked his way out of the league and Rex is following suit…

.Packers 4-3 (8) This team is poorly coached, I mean how do you come out flat in that game and have the same game plan as the loss at Minnesota?  Aaron Rodgers came up small and couldn’t put his stamp on the franchise…

.Bears 4-3 (18) The only teams the Monsters of the Midway can beat are the cellar-dweller teams….

.Panthers 3-4 (24) Props for the ass-kicking you gave Arizona, but where has that been all year?

.Niners 3-4 (22) A good showing in Indy, but you caught Indy laying an egg…

.Bills 3-5 (20) Win 2 road games in a row and that’s how you reward your fans at home?  Jeesh…

LIGHTWEIGHT DIVISION

.Jaguars 3-4 (21) How did this team win 3 games? I mean really?

.Seahawks 2-5 (23) Instead of expanding the league to London, how about shrinking the league and you can start with this team…..

.Redskins 2-5 (23) How about putting in a “celebrity” coach each week, couldn’t do any worse….

.Raiders 2-6 (26) They say a team mirrors its coach….   And it’s true,  the Raiders are cowardly and can only beat up the “woman” teams…..just like Coach Wife-Beater…… the big tough guy that he is…..

.Rams 1-7 (30)  You can’t stop the Rams, you can only hope to contain them…

.Lions 1-6 (27) They should ask Obama for a bailout, everyone else in Detroit does…

.Chiefs 1-6 (29) After LJ’s tweets, the gays plan to boycott this Johnson….

.Browns 1-7 (28) Recession, what recession?  The Browns are taking applications, Ladies and Gentlemen!

.Titans 1-6 (32) Maybe the owner should coach this team, he demanded VY start at QB and first game out of the chute, he puts up a W.  What do you need Fisher for?

.Bucs 0-7 (31) You know you’re having a bad year when you sink to the last spot on a bye week…
