Free NFL Picks – Week 2 2011 from Stephen G.- Expert Football Picks and NFL Predictions

Free NFL Picks and NFL Predictions for Week 2 NFL Football Betting from Stephen G at the National Sports Advisors: Week 1 of the NFL schedule is in the books and I’ve always felt the first week or two of the season are some of the hardest weeks to handicap.  This is mainly because you can’t get an accurate handle on teams by watching preseason games and all you have to go on is last year and media hype for the upcoming season.  Until you actually watch the first few weeks and see for yourself, its a leap of faith…  Having said all that, I went 3-3-1 in week one… not terrible, but certainly not good enough…  Let’s see if I can dial it in better this week:

Last Week

3-3-1  (50%)

Season

3-3-1  (50%)

SUNDAY 9/18

New Orleans Minus 6.5 – There is no way the Saints are starting out 0-2.  They actually played quite well in GB and had a chance to tie it up at the end.  I don’t believe in the Bears and don’t think they are in the Packers or Saints class.  Give me the Who Dat’s by 10 or more.

NY Jets Minus 8.5 – I know this is a big line and the Jests are not exactly an offensive machine, but how are the Jags going to score?  You tell me….I say the Sanchise does enough to put up 14-17 pts and maybe the defense adds another score..  I’ll say 24-6 GangGreen.

Pittsburgh Minus 14- Speaking of big numbers and while I would generally stay away from this line, I think its already a huge game for the Steelers after last week.  Plus as an added bonus, they are playing one of the softest and unprepared teams in the NFL in Petey Poodle’s Seahags… Steelers big here…

Dallas Minus 3 – Look, I know Romo gagged last week and all but they looked pretty damn good for 3 quarters against one of the best defenses out there.  Are we saying that they can’t beat a lower echelon team by 3?  If they can’t win this game, they might as well pack it in this season too…

San Diego Plus 6.5 –  Lost in all the Brady ball-washing last week was that Chad Henne put up 400+ yds on the NE defense….  What will Philip Rivers put up?  I see this as a shootout with whoever having the ball last winning.  Maybe NE wins, but I’ll take the points in what could be a close game or an outright win for SD.

Atlanta Plus 1.5 – The Falcons are usually a formidable team at home and will want to get the bad taste from Chicago out of their mouths.  This team is supposed to be one of the NFC elite teams and its too early to write them off.  I think Atlanta can win this game and I’ll take the points as a bonus.

MONDAY 9/19

NY Giants Minus 6 – Another team facing a must win scenario in week 2 or risk falling behind in the competitive NFC East.  I might ordinarily back the up & coming Rams here but they are banged up at RB and QB so I’ll go with the home team to prevail.
