Baltimore Ravens at Pittsburgh Steelers 2010 NFL Predictions, Odds, and Picks Week 4

Baltimore Ravens at Pittsburgh Steelers 2010 NFL Predictions, Odds, and Picks Week 4:   Head football coach Mike Tomlin has his Pittsburgh Steelers at 3-0 coming home to host the Baltimore Ravens at Heinz Field Sunday at 1:00 PM ET on CBS.  The Steelers have played great defense combined with a rejuvenated running game to win their first three games without 2 time Super Bowl winning quarterback Ben Roethlisberger who will miss his fourth and last game due to disciplinary suspension.  A win would give them their first 4-0 start since 1979 when they won their 4th Super Bowl.  The Ravens gave up 144 yards to Cleveland’s Peyton Hillis last week the most allowed by the Ravens defense since 2005.  “I’d have felt better if Peyton Hillis had run for 40 as opposed to 140 because I know the type of men that play for that (Baltimore) team,” said Tomlin, who called the Ravens-Steelers rivalry the best in the NFL. “Great defenses like the Baltimore Ravens usually bounce back quickly.”  The odds makers at SBG Global have the Pittsburgh Steelers -2 1/2 point favorites at home against the Baltimore Ravens.

The Ravens are 2-1 following a win 24-17 at home against AFC North foe the Cleveland Browns.  Quarterback Joe Flacco completed 22 of 31 passes for 262 yards and 3 touchdowns connecting with Anquan Bolden 8 times for 142 yards and all 3 touchdowns.  Running back Ray Rice carried 15 times for 80 yards and reinjured his bruised knee but is expected to play.  The Ravens defense is No. 1 in the league allowing just 244.3 yards per game.  Vegas odds makers have the Baltimore Ravens as +1000 odds to win the 2011 Super Bowl.

The Steelers are coming off a 38-13 victory over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on the road.  Quarterback Charlie Batch completed only 12 of 17 passes for 186 yards but had 3 touchdowns and 2 interceptions connecting with Mike Wallace3 times for 100 yards and 2 touchdowns.  Running back Rashard Mendenhall carried 19 times for 143 yards and a touchdown.  The Steeler defense was its typical stingy self-allowing just 303 net yards with an interception and a fumble recovery.  Vegas odds makers have the over/under for the total score at 34 points combined of the Baltimore Raven s and Pittsburgh Steelers.

I predict a 4-0 start for my Pittsburgh Steelers. Go Black and Gold! Note: Rich Fritz is a Blog Writer on NSAwins.com and not a pro handicapper.
