The Washington Redskins enter this 2019 season looking to rebound from a 7-9 campaign last year. It was the 2nd straight season the Skins finished 7-9 and they have not finished over .500 since going 9-7 in 2015 when they last made the NFC playoffs.

Redskins head coach Jay Gruden is 35-44-1 thru his first 5 seasons as head coach in Washington and the heat is on. Gruden needs to get this Skins team back over .500 and in the playoffs to keep his job safe in our opinion.

The reason for optimism this season for Redskins fans is their defense. Washington has a lot of nice pieces on defense and we loved their free agent signing of strong safety Landon Collins to tighten up the back end of their defense. If the Skins can get something from their offense than they are going to have a chance to win a lot of games due to their improving defense.

The Philadelphia Eagles come into this season with Super Bowl expectations again after going 9-7 last season and reaching the NFC Divisional Round Playoffs. Philly had a great opportunity to get back to the Super Bowl and defend their title last season before collapsing late in the game against the Saints in playoffs.

Quarterback Carson Wentz comes into this season with a lot to prove to himself and Eagles fans. The Eagles won the Super Bowl two seasons ago with Nick Foles and went on a playoff run last year again with Foles. Wentz is the more talented of the two and needs to stay healthy and finally prove it when it counts this season.

A lot of experts are calling the Eagles the best team in the NFC this season and it’s tough for us to argue. They are well coached and have outstanding talent on the offensive and defensive lines. That’s where games are won and lost and the Eagles will have the best units on the field in those two areas in the majority of their games this season.

Our money is going down on Philadelphia -10 on Sunday. They are 4-0 overall and 4-0 against the spread in the last 4 meetings with Washington. We just don’t see Washington being able to keep up offensively and keep this game close enough to get the money. Look for Philadelphia to win by two plus touchdowns.
