Miami Heat at Portland Trail Blazers 2011 NBA Preview, Odds, and Predictions

Miami Heat at Portland Trail Blazers 2011 NBA Preview, Odds, and Predictions:  MVP LeBron James will lead the sizzling Miami Heat on the road to the Rose Garden to take on the Portland Trail Blazers on Sunday night at 9:00 PM ET.  The Trail Blazers enter the game on a 8 game win streak at home and 2 overall to get to 20-17 4th in the Northwest while the Heat have won 12 in a row on the road and 8 overall to come in at 29-9 1st in the Southeast.  The Heat continued their winning ways on the road but needed overtime at Milwaukee to pull it out.  “It takes luck sometimes. Games that you maybe shouldn’t have won,” said LeBron James, who scored 18 of his 26 points in the first half Friday. “You have streaks like that, you definitely need some type of luck.  “It’s not always going to be a bed of roses for us three and for our team,” he said.  “I like these type of games,” coach Erik Spoelstra said. “This is where you grow. I know we’ll learn from some of these situations going down the stretch.”  The odds makers at Bodog have the Miami Heat a -5 1/2 point favorite on the road against the Portland Trail Blazers.

The Heat pulled out the overtime victory 101-95 over the Bucks recently but did not cover moving them to 18-19-1 ATS for the season.  Forward LeBron James led the Heat with 26 points 10 rebounds and 5 assists.  Power Forward Chris Bosh added 16 points and 12 boards while Dwayne Wade added 14 points 7 rebounds and 5 assists on a cold shooting night for them both.  The total has gone UNDER in 7 of Miami’s last 9 games on the road.  Vegas odds makers have the Miami Heat +200 to win the 2010-2011 NBA Championship.

The Trail Blazers are coming off a victory 108-98 on the road at the Timberwolves moving them to 19-16-2 ATS for the season.  Guard-Forward Wesley Matthews led Portland with 36 points and 5 boards while forward LaMarcus Aldridge added 28 points and 10 rebounds.  “His demeanor changed” in the second half, teammate Wesley Matthews said of Aldridge, who also finished with 10 rebounds. “It was time for him to go to work and put us on his back, and that’s what he did.”  The total has gone OVER in 5 of Portland’s last 7 games when playing Miami.  Vegas odds makers have the over/under for the total score at 184 points combined of the Miami Heat and Portland Trail Blazers.

I predict the Heat win on the road again!
