2019 Roxor 200 Odds & Predictions: Favorites, Value Bets, Sleepers at New Hampshire Motor Speedway

2019 Roxor 200 Odds2019 Roxor 200 Odds & Predictions: Favorites, Value Bets, Sleepers at New Hampshire Motor Speedway: The NASCAR XFINITY Series heads to New Hampshire Motor Speedway this weekend for Saturday’s Roxor 200. The race will be a companion event with the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series, but unlike last year when Brad Keselowski was in the field, Paul Menard will be the closest thing to a ringer entered this time around.

While Menard could certainly be a factor, the lack of a Cup superstar in the field makes the top XFINITY regulars the overwhelming betting favorites for Saturday’s race. Given that three drivers (Christopher Bell, Cole Custer and Tyler Reddick) have combined to win 12 of the first 16 races, you can feel pretty confident putting a majority of your chips in their respective baskets this weekend.

If you want to try to hit a bigger payout, there are a few appealing longshots that could be worth a look. Check out a closer look at these potential dark horses and my favorites for the XFINITY Series Roxor 200 at New Hampshire Motor Speedway.

2019 Roxor 200 Odds & Predictions: Favorites, Value Bets, Sleepers at New Hampshire Motor Speedway

Favorites to Bet

Christopher Bell (13/10)

Bell has been a factor for the win in almost every race this season. He already has four victories under his belt, and he leads the series in driver rating, laps led and fastest laps run. He also won in his New Hampshire debut last year, leading a race-high 93 laps in a race that also featured Cup star Brad Keselowski. Without any big names pulling double duty this weekend, the smart money is on Bell repeating.

Cole Custer (11/4)

He has been coming on strong in recent weeks, winning three of the six races leading up to New Hampshire to give himself a series-best five victories in 2019. Custer just keeps getting better, and in addition to leading the XFINITY Series in wins, he ranks second in almost every other important statistical category. He has cracked the top 10 in both of his previous starts at New Hampshire, so don’t expect Custer to slow down this weekend.

Value Bets

Paul Menard (14/1)

While he certainly isn’t a star at the Cup level, Menard does have tons of experience in NASCAR tops series. He will also have excellent equipment to work with when he pilots a second Team Penske entry in the Roxor 200. Menard has made five previous XFINITY starts for Penske, finishing in the top 10 in all of them. In his first start for the team this season, he led 56 laps and finished fourth at Michigan. Menard could give the top XFNITY drivers a run for their money Saturday.

Brandon Jones (25/1)

He is still learning how to stay out of trouble and close out races, but Jones has consistently shown top-five speed in 2019. In fact, he currently ranks in the top five in fastest laps run this season. Jones also finished sixth in his first start at New Hampshire for Joe Gibbs Racing last season, and given JGR’s history of success at this track, I expect him to be fast again Saturday. He is a high-risk, high-reward bet, but at 25/1, Jones is worth considering.

Harrison Burton (33/1)

Burton only has two XFINITY starts in his career, but he flashed potential in both. He debuted with a top-10 at Bristol earlier this year, and he finished fourth at Iowa in his follow-up effort. He will be back behind the wheel of a Joe Gibbs Racing entry this weekend, and as I already mentioned, JGR has been excellent at New Hampshire as an organization. I’ll take 33/1 odds on a young, talented driver in elite equipment, especially one who has already shown top-five upside.

Sleeper Special

John Hunter Nemechek (80/1)

He has quietly been one of the steadiest performers in 2019, finishing 12th or better in 14 of the 17 races. More importantly, Nemechek’s aggressive style has always been most effective at short tracks and flat tracks. There have been five races held at tracks one mile in length or shorter so far this season, and he has cracked the top 10 in all of them. Nemechek also finished fourth in his New Hampshire debut last year. If I am taking a flier on a longshot, he’s the obvious bet.
