2019 Boyd Gaming 300 Odds & Predictions: Las Vegas Motor Speedway

2019 Boyd Gaming 300 Odds2019 Boyd Gaming 300 Odds & Predictions – Las Vegas Motor Speedway: The 2019 NASCAR XFINITY Series season continues this weekend at Las Vegas Motor Speedway. The track will host Saturday’s Boyd Gaming 300, and it will be the second race in as many weeks that is held at a mile-and-a-half oval.

These fast, intermediate ovals are usually kind to the top drivers and top teams in the series. With the Cup Series also in town, one of those top drivers happens to be Kyle Busch, who is scheduled to do triple duty this weekend.

Obviously, Busch is among the heavy favorites this weekend, but by being in the field, he also drives up the odds of some other quality options. You can get some great odds on several drivers capable of winning, so I suggest taking advantage. If something happens to Kyle Busch, you could be looking at a big payout.

The Favorites

Kyle Busch (4/5)

You won’t win much money by betting on Busch, but you may have to bet on him anyway if you want to win anything. His 92 XFINITY Series wins are the most in NASCAR history, and he has finished either first or second in three of his last five XFINITY starts at Las Vegas. When Busch shows up for an XFINITY race, he instantly becomes the favorite.

Christopher Bell (7/2)

After winning seven races as a rookie, everybody expected Bell to have a monster 2019 campaign. He’s off to a fast start after leading 142 of the 163 laps in his win at Atlanta last weekend, and back-to-back victories could be on tap this weekend. In two starts at Las Vegas a year ago, Bell finished second and fourth, respectively.

Value Bets

Cole Custer (7/1)

Custer has developed into a stud at the mile-and-a-half tracks, and after last weekend’s runner-up effort at Atlanta, he has eight top-five finishes in the last nine races at 1.5-mile ovals dating back to last season. Custer has led laps in six races during that span, spending time out front on his way to a third-place finish at Las Vegas last fall. He’s a great alternative to the two heavy favorites.

Tyler Reddick (12/1)

He closed 2018 with four straight top-five finishes at 1.5-mile ovals, and despite moving teams this offseason, Reddick has picked up where he left off. He led some laps and finished fifth at Atlanta this weekend, and of all the regular contenders, the defending series champ offers one of the best profit margins this weekend.

Brandon Jones (25/1)

Jones surprised me last weekend at Atlanta when he showed top-five speed all afternoon and ended up fourth. He bought his ride with Joe Gibbs Racing, but it finally looks like he may be ready to take advantage of the elite equipment at his disposal. Jones has three top-10s in four XFINITY starts at Las Vegas, so I like his chances of being back in the mix for the win Saturday.

Chase Briscoe (30/1)

Don’t let his 15th-place finish at Atlanta last weekend full you. Briscoe was challenging for a top-five finish when he had a tire issue in the closing laps, and it looks like he is going to be a legitimate threat this year now that he has Stewart-Haas Racing equipment to work with on a weekly basis. Briscoe was a surprise winner at the Charlotte Roval last year, and he could surprise again this weekend at Las Vegas. His odds are only going to improve as he establishes himself as one of the better drivers in the series, so now is the time to take a chance on him.

Sleeper Special

Zane Smith (60/1)

Smith has a limited racing resume, but he’s flashed upside. He won four races in his first full ARCA season last year, and he also made his Truck Series debut, logging a top-five finish in his only start. He will make his XFINITY Series debut this weekend, and he will do so behind the wheel of the JR Motorsports No. 8 machine. His equipment alone gives him a higher ceiling than a lot of the drivers in the field, and Smith is the only total longshot that is worth throwing some money at this weekend.
