2019 Alsco 300 Odds & Predictions: Kentucky Speedway

2019 Alsco 300 Odds2019 Alsco 300 Odds & Predictions – Kentucky Speedway: The XFINITY Series heads to Kentucky Speedway as part of a busy weekend of racing action at the 1.5-mile track. Friday night’s Alsco 300 will be one of three races held at the Kentucky, but despite the triple-header, we don’t have any Cup stars scheduled to be in the field.

As a result, Christopher Bell, Tyler Reddick and Cole Custer immediately jump to the top of the list of betting options, and this “Big 3” has combined to win 11 of the 16 races this year with Cup star Kyle Busch winning four of the remaining five while pulling double duty.

Yes, there are a couple of intriguing value bets that are worth putting some money on, but if you plan on betting heavily on the Alsco 300 at Kentucky Speedway, make sure to come down hard on Bell, Reddick and Custer. You won’t regret it.

2019 Alsco 300 Odds & Predictions: Kentucky Speedway

The Favorites

Christopher Bell (+175)

Bell is the defending winner of Friday night’s race after winning in his Kentucky debut last season. This year, he is tied for the series lead with four victories, and he has led the most of any driver, leading a series-best 305 laps in the five races at mile-and-a-half ovals. If you bet on Bell, you know you are giving yourself a great shot at the win.

Tyler Reddick (+225)

There have been five races at 1.5-mile tracks this year, and Reddick has scored the most points of any driver in those races. In those starts, he has amassed four top-10s, three top-five finishes and a win, and he has led double-digit laps in three of them. To top it off, Reddick has also logged top-10s in all three of his starts at Kentucky, leading 66 laps in a win here two years ago.

Cole Custer (+225)

Custer has always shown a ton of upside at the 1.5-mile ovals, and the last time the series visited a mile-and-a-half oval, he clobbered the competition at Chicagoland with a field that included Cup star Joey Logano. Custer led 20-plus laps in three of the five races at 1.5-mile tracks in 2019 and the second-most laps of any driver in the series. Throw in the fact that Custer has finished in the top five and led double-digit laps in his last two starts at Kentucky, and he looks like a great bet this weekend.

Value Bets

Justin Allgaier (+800)

While the “Big 3” have dominated the XFINITY Series, the one driver who has been able to challenge them with some regularity has been Allgaier. He has been an all-or-nothing driver this season, but seven of his eight top-10 finishes have been top-five runs. Allgaier also ranks fourth in laps led this year, and he is the only other driver outside the three favorites who has led triple-digit laps on the season. At +800, he offers a little more room for profit than the frontrunners, and he is the most likely to step up if the top guys slip up.

Brandon Jones (+4000)

If you are fading the “Big 3” in Friday night’s race, the best overall value on the board has to be Jones. His numbers at the 1.5-mile tracks don’t immediately jump off the page, but they don’t take into account that he was taken out by other drivers in two of those five races. Jones finished in the top 10 in the other three races at mile-and-a-half ovals, logging a pair of top-five finishes. Driving for Joe Gibbs Racing, Jones has the equipment to contend with the top guys, and he has shown he can put himself in the mix at these intermediate ovals like Kentucky. Watch out for Jones at +4000.

Sleeper Special

Michael Annett (+5000)

Annett has been a mid-pack driver most of his career, but he has flipped a switch in 2019, especially at the 1.5-mile tracks. He has finished sixth or better in four of the five races at mile-and-a-half tracks, posting a 6.4 average finish in those starts. In the most recent trip to a 1.5-mile oval, Annett led 25 laps at finished third at Chicagoland. At +5000, why not throw a few bucks at a driver who has been a borderline top-five driver at tracks like Kentucky.
