2011 Federated Auto Parts 300 Odds, Free Picks and Predictions – Favorites to Win and Drivers to Watch

2011 2011 Federated Auto Parts 300 Odds, Predictions, Betting Tips and Free Picks – Favorites and Lines to Win Federated Auto Parts 300: NASCAR betting odds to win the 2011 Federated Auto Parts 300 this Saturday, July 23rd at Nashville Superspeedway in Lebanon, Tennessee have been posted at all the major Las Vegas and best online sportsbooks and the online bookies with Carl Edwards having been installed as the +175 favorite to win the 2011 Federated Auto Parts 300.

As the Cup Series takes a week off in preparation for the prestigious Brickyard 400, the Nationwide Series heads to Nashville Superspeedway for a Saturday night affair. With a majority of the Cup regulars deciding to use the week off to rest, this weekend’s race is a golden opportunity for the series regulars to score a win. Only three championship-eligible drivers have won in the series this season, but that number could be going up this weekend.

Last season, Penske Racing teammates Justin Allgaier and Brad Keselowski were the stars of the show. Keselowski led a race-high 97 laps, and Allgaier won the pole and led 58 laps. As the laps ticked away, Allgaier appeared to be heading for an easy win. However, a late caution bunched up the field and allowed Keselowski and others to erase the gap. The more experienced Keselowski took full advantage of the opportunity and passed his younger teammate and went on to win the race.

Earlier this year, the race came down to a duel between two of the top drivers in the series. Carl Edwards and Kyle Busch have combined to win 10 races this year, and no other driver has more than one. Edwards got the better of Busch in this one, leading a race-high 148 laps and picking up the win. Busch finished second, but he never made a real run at Edwards in the closing laps.

2011 Federated Auto Parts 300 – The Favorites

In 12 career starts at Nashville, Carl Edwards has amassed an incredible 11 finishes of sixth or better. He has a 3.8 average finish at the track in his career, and he has never finished outside the top 15. Edwards won at Nashville earlier this year, and if he completes the season sweep, he will have five career wins at the track. There isn’t a more proven option in the field this weekend.

After wrecking in his first two starts at Nashville, Brad Keselowski has been on the mark at the track ever since. He has reeled off seven straight top-five finishes, picking up a pair of wins during the stretch. Keselowski is the defending winner of this weekend’s race, and as one of two Cup drivers in the field, he should be fighting for the win Saturday.

He enters this weekend’s race second in the standings, and Reed Sorenson could gain some ground this weekend. He has finished in the top 10 in five of his seven starts at Nashville, including three straight. Sorenson is a former winner at the track as well, and his 9.0 average finish is the best of any of the title contenders. This weekend’s race is a great opportunity for Sorenson to grab his second one of the year and grab the top spot in the standings.

2011 Federated Auto Parts 300 – The Dark Horses

A bad break at Road America took Justin Allgaier from the cusp of the top spot to nearly a full race out of the lead. He will have to claw his way back into the title mix, and he needs to start this weekend at Nashville. Allgaier has finished in the top 15 in his last four starts at the track, finishing as high as fourth twice. He needs to take advantage of a weaker field this weekend.

Elliott Sadler is the point leader, but he is the only one of the four main contenders for the title that has yet to win in 2011. However, his nine top-five finishes are the most of any series leader. Sadler finished 13th at Nashville earlier this year, but with only two Cup regulars in the field, he should have a shot at getting to Victory Lane. Sadler doesn’t necessarily need a win to win the title, but he could make quite a statement this weekend.

2011 Federated Auto Parts 300 – Sleepers Specials

Youngster Austin Dillon is a rising star in the Truck Series and the future of Richard Childress Racing. He will get a chance to showcase his talents in the Nationwide Series this weekend when he jumps behind the wheel of the No. 33 at Nashville. Dillon finished an impressive seventh in his track debut earlier this year, and he could be even better on the return trip.

His overall numbers at Nashville are nothings short of terrible. He has finished outside the top 20 in three of his four starts at the track, but earlier this year, Stenhouse Jr. finished a career-best fifth. He is only 18 points out of first heading into this weekend’s race, and he is a much different driver than the one that struggled in his first three Nashville starts. Stenhouse Jr. should be in the mix for another top-five finish Saturday, if not a win.

2011 Federated Auto Parts 300 – Big Names to Avoid

In 13 starts at Nashville, Jason Leffler has had a bit of success. He has four career top-five finishes, including a win. However, the win came way back in 2004, and he hasn’t finished in the top 10 in his last three starts. Leffler certainly has the potential to surprise this weekend, but he is a boom or bust option that has been a lot more bust recently.

Most casual NASCAR fans aren’t familiar with the name Drew Herring, but the Joe Gibbs Racing developmental driver will get a chance to show his stuff this weekend. He will drive the No. 18 Toyota that has been piling up victories with Kyle Busch behind the wheel. The problem is that Herring is very inexperienced at the Nationwide level, and driving a fast car isn’t enough to guarantee a driver will be competitive. Herring may end up being a star one day, but he is a few years away from making any real noise.
