We will be very surprised if it happened. We love Improbable to come out as the winner as he breaks from the 5 post and has finished either 1st or 2nd in all 5 of his races. He finished 2nd in the Arkansas Derby to Omaha Beach but Omaha Beach is scratched for this race today.
SHOW: #17 Roadster(5/1 Odds, Jockey: Florent Geroux, Trainer: Bob Baffert) We normally don’t like betting the favorites in a field this big in a race of this magnitude but we can’t help it. Roadster is too good. He beat out the 2019 Kentucky Derby favorite, Game Winner, to win the Santa Anita Derby on April 6th. The win was the 3rd in 4 races for Roadster with a 3rd place finish in the Del Mar Futurity-G1 on September 3, 2018 as his only so-called blemish. Game Winner won that race so Roadster got his revenge at the Santa Anita Derby.
PLACE: #10 Cutting Humor(30/1 Odds, Jockey: Mike E Smith Jr, Trainer: Todd Pletcher) We love this bet because of Mike E Smith Jr and Todd Pletcher. Two of the best in the business and a late hookup. Smith Jr was supposed to ride on Omaha Beach but he was scratched from the race. Pletcher took advantage and got Smith to ride on Cutting Humor. This is not a great horse but he has enough in him to make a trip into the top 3 today. He has finished in the top 3 in 5 of his 6 races and we look for him to have a nice trip today from the 10 post.
