Wisconsin Badgers at Iowa Hawkeyes 2010 NCAAF Week 8 Odds, Preview, Predictions

Wisconsin Badgers at Iowa Hawkeyes 2010 NCAAF Week 8 Odds, and Preview, Predictions: The No. 10 Wisconsin Badgers are coming off a big home win against then No. 1 Ohio State and now have to travel to Kinnick Stadium to play the No. 15 Iowa Hawkeyes on Saturday at 3:30 PM ET on ABC.  Wisconsin is 6-1, 2-1 4th in the Big Ten while Iowa is 5-1, 2-0 and 2nd in the Big Ten but have this and 2 more consecutive home games against Conference contenders.  “We’re only three games into the Big Ten schedule. We’ve done some good things, but to beat the No. 1 team … It’s good,” head football coach Bret Bielema said. The Badgers did it with their big guys up front and bruising Heisman hopeful John Clay running the ball.  “First of all, they’re gigantic,” Hawkeyes head football coach Kirk Ferentz said. “That jumps right at you. That is the major difference between our two teams. Their size compared to ours is a pretty significant difference.”  Vegas odds makers have the Iowa Hawkeyes a -5 1/2 point favorite at home against the Wisconsin Badgers.

The Badgers big home victory 31-18 over Ohio State made a lot of teams and fans outside of Columbus very happy but none more than the Wisconsin faithful.  Quarterback Scott Tolzien was 13 for 16 for 152 yards and a pick but it was the running game that carried the day.  Clay carried 21 times for 104 yards and 2 touchdowns his 6th 100 yard effort in 7 games this season.  Running back James White also carried 17 times for an additional 75 yards and a score.  The Badgers are a surprising 1-5 against the spread this season.  Vegas odds makers have John Clay at +1100 odds to win the Heisman Trophy.

The Iowa Hawkeyes are also coming off a big conference victory 38-28 at Michigan.  Quarterback Ricky Stanzi completed 17 of 24 passes for 248 yards and 3 touchdowns with no picks hitting wide receiver Derrell Johnson-Koulianos 4 times for 70 yards and all three scores.  Running back Adam Robinson toted the ball 31 times for 143 yards and 2 touchdowns.  The Hawkeyes are 4-1 ATS this season and the total has gone UNDER in 4 of Iowa’s last 6 games when playing Wisconsin. Odds makers at BetUS have the over/under for the total score at 48 points combined of the Wisconsin Badgers and Iowa Hawkeyes.

I predict a Wisconsin upset on the road!  No hangover for the Badgers!
