Week 8 College Football Top 25 AP Poll Released – Alabama the New #1

NSAwins.com has posted the College Football Top 25 AP Poll for Week 8 of the 2009 NCAA Football season. Alabama has supplanted Florida as the the nation’s new #1 team in this week’s AP Poll. Nick Saban’s Crimson Tide are 7-0 and have won all seven games by 10 points or more. Florida, which had been #1 all season thus far, dropped to #2 after saturday’s close 23-20 win against Arkansas as a -24.5 point favorite. Texas remains #3 after saturday’s hard fought 16-13 win over Oklahoma in the Red River rivalry, while USC and Cincinnati round out this week’s top 5. The rest of the top 10 includes Boise St, Iowa, Miami-Fl, LSU and TCU(in that order). The poll welcomes three new teams to the rankings this week, as Pittsburgh(20), Texas Tech(21) and West Virginia(22) have earned their way into the rankings after impressive wins last week.
