NSAwins.com has posted it’s Week 2 College Football Power Rankings for the 2009 season. The following rankings are compiled by taking the Top 25 votes sent to us from NSAwins.com’s Sports Handicapping Experts(The LEGEND, Gerry “BIG CAT” Andino, Lou Panelli, Steve “SCOOP” Kendall, and William E. Stockton), as well as from NSAwins.com’s “FINAL SCORE REPORT” blog’s founders and contributing authors(Stephen G. and David E.). These rankings will be updated every monday throughout the College Football regular season and after the completion of the Bowl Season. Please keep in mind that these power rankings are based on current records and performances and not a prediction on how we think teams will end up at the end of the season or how two teams would fare if they played one another. Below is the Week 2 College Football Top 25 power rankings from NSAwins.com.

NSAwins.com’s Week 2 College Football Top 25

This Week’s “SUPER 15″(Teams Ranked 1-15 in NSAwins.com’s Poll)

RK(LW), TEAM, RECORD
#1(1) Florida Gators 1-0 Crushed Charleston Southern 62-3 last week. Expect more of the same this week versus Troy.
#2(2) – Texas Longhorns 1-0 Beat LA-Monroe 59-21 last week but failed to cover the -41 number. Look for the Horns to roll at Wyoming this saturday.
#3(4) – LSU Tigers 1-0 We still have high hopes for LSU this season, but their defense dissapointed us last week. 478 total yards given up in a 31-23 win at Washington? Terrible. The Tigers better get better fast or they will find themselves on the losing end of a few SEC games this season. We will give them a pass for last week’s poor showing.
#4(5) – USC Trojans 1-0 We said last week that Barkley was the REAL DEAL and USC would be in the BCS hunt all year. Nothing changed our minds in last week’s impressive 56-3 blowout win over San Jose St. The Trojans head to Columbus as -7 chalk this week to face the Buckeyes.
#5(6) – Alabama Crimson Tide 1-0 We were pleasantly surprised with the Tide’s offense last week in a 34-24 win vs Va Tech. The Tide’s offense looked really good. Nick Saban’s crew outgained Va tech 498-155 in total yards last saturday. Impressive opener for Bama.
#6(7) – Ohio St Buckeyes 1-0 It’s still early, but it’s not a good sign when you struggle at home against Navy in a 31-27 nailbiter. Jim Tressel’s team better bring their “A” game this week against USC or they might get embarassed in front of family and friends.
#7(3) – Oklahoma Sooners 1-0 Don’t write off the Sooners just yet. Sure, losing to BYU 14-13 was a bad start, but if they can run the table they will definitely be in the discussion to make the BCS Championship game. Make no mistake, OU is still a bonafide Top 10 team once Bradford returns.
#8(9) – TCU Horned Frogs 0-0 Gary Patterson’s squad opens up the 2009 campaign this saturday at Virginia. Expect TCU to get it done convincingly.
#9(10) – Boise St Broncos 1-0 The Broncos looked good beating Oregon at home 19-8 last thursday. But when do they NOT look good at home? We still have our doubts when they go up against a true heavyweight come bowl time, but for now they make our Top 10.
#10(11) – Oklahoma St Cowboys 1-0 We told you last week to keep an eye on Mike Gundy’s team as they could be a darkhorse BCS at-large team this season. They looked the part last week in an impressive 24-10 win at home versus Georgia.
#11(21) – BYU Cougars 1-0 BYU looked solid in last week’s 14-13 win versus Oklahoma. However, let’s not get too carried away with the Cougars. Had Bradford not of gotten hurt, than they probably would have lost and they still would be considered a Top 20 club instead of a Top 10 club in the eyes of some pundits.
#12(12) – Penn St Nittany Lions 1-0 The Nittany Lions rolled versus Akron last week 31-7. Yawn. When these guys beat ANYONE good please let us know. The non-conference schedule they play is a joke.
#13(15) – Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets 1-0 The Jackets won 37-17 in their opener last week versus Jacksonville St. The schedule picks up this week with their ACC opener thursday night versus Clemson.
#14(16) – Mississippi Rebels 1-0 Ole Miss is ranked #6 and #8 in the AP and USA Today Polls. That’s too high folks. This team is NOT that good. Don’t get fooled by the 45-14 final at Memphis on sunday. It was a 7 point game with less than 10 minutes left. Garbage time TD’s made it look like a blowout.
#15(8) – Virginia Tech Hokies 0-1 Alabama will make many teams look bad this season so we won’t drop the Hokies down too far after losing 34-24 saturday night. However, the Hokies better get that defense improved if it wants to play with the BIG BOYS anytime soon.

BEST of the REST(Teams Ranked 15-25)

#16(17) – California Bears 1-0
#17(19) – Utah Utes 1-0
#18(20) – North Carolina Tar Heels 1-0
#19(22) – Nebraska Cornhuskers 1-0
#20(23) – Kansas Jayhawks 1-0
#21(14) – Georgia Bulldogs 0-1
#22(NR) – Cincinnati Bearcats 1-0
#23(NR) – Miami-Fl Hurricanes 1-0
#24(NR) – Notre Dame Fighting Irish 1-0
#25(25) – Pittsbrugh Panthers 1-0
