UCF Knights at Marshall Thundering Herd 2010 NCAAF Week 7 Odds, Preview, Predictions

UCF Knights at Marshall Thundering Herd 2010 NCAAF Week 7 Odds, Preview, and Predictions:  A Conference USA showdown on Wednesday night at 8:00 PM ET on ESPN will have the University of Central Florida Knights trying to stay unbeaten in the conference when they travel to Huntington, West Virginia to take on the 1-4, 0-1 Marshall University Thundering Herd.  Head football coach George O’Leary’s Knights are 3-2, but 1-0 in C-USA and trail the East Carolina Pirates who are 3-2, 3-0 in conference and lead the C-USA East.

Marshall rookie head coach Doc Holliday has already had his team play 3 times on Saturday, a Friday night game, Thursday night game, now on Wednesday night.  “We’re used to it,” Holliday said. “You just back-up from whatever the day of the game is so our preparation never changes. It will be the same.”  “This is a great opportunity to showcase our program … as the only college football game on.  “We have great fans and it is important that we have another great crowd this week.”  Vegas odds makers have the UCF Knights a -5 1/2 point favorite on the road against the Marshall Thundering Herd.

UCF is coming of a 42-7 win over the UAB Blazers at home by combining the talents of both of their quarterbacks.  Freshman Jeff Godfrey completed 9 of 11 passes for 137 yards and also carried the ball 9 times for 80 yards while junior Rob Calabrese completed all three of his passes for 34 yards and a touchdown as well as another 5 carries for 30 yards.  “The rotation was really good and I thought both of them played really well,” O’Leary said. “I think it’s a good way to use them, and it keeps fresh legs in the game.”   Running back Ronnie Weaver carried the ball 21 times for just 50 yards but scored 2 touchdowns.

Hattiesburg wasn’t very hospitable to the Herd last weekend as the Southern Miss Golden Eagles beat Marshall 41-16 allowing MU just 180 yards of total offense.  Quarterback Brian Anderson completed just 4 of 13 passes for 16 yards and a touchdown before being pulled for back up A.J. Graham in the second half.  Graham went 8 of 10 for 89 yards before relenting back to Anderson to finish the game.  Odds makers at JustBet have the over/under for the total score at 44 1/2 points combined of the UCF Knights and Marshall Thundering Herd.

I predict a Marshall win at home.  GO HERD! Note: Rich Fritz is a Blog Writer on NSAwins.com and not a pro handicapper. For expert College Football Predictions against the vegas spreads please visit the NSAwins.com homepage for top predictions today from the National Sports Advisors.
