Texas A&M AT Oklahoma State 2010 NCAAF Week 5 Odds, Preview, Predictions

TEXAS A&M AT OKLAHOMA STATE 2010 NCAAF Week 5 Odds, Preview, and Predictions:  Thursday night head football coach Mike Sherman leads his Texas A & M Aggies on the road to kick of their Big 12 season against also undefeated Oklahoma State Cowboys.  The Aggies have won on a soft schedule at home with big wins against Stephen F. Austin and Louisiana Tech scoring 48 points on each of them.  The Cowboys have had a little more challenging start to get to 3-0 beating Washington State 65-17, Troy 41-38, and most recently Tulsa 65-28 all at home.  The Aggies will be challenged to stop the Cowboys potent new spread offense that balances the run and pass to be the No. 1 in total yardage per game in the Nation.  Vegas odds makers have the Oklahoma State Cowboys a -3 point favorite at home against the Texas A & M Aggies.

The Oklahoma State Cowboys racked up 65 points for the second time this season while beating Tulsa at home in Stillwater Saturday night.  Quarterback Brandon Weeden completed 23 of 32 passes for 409 yards and 6 touchdowns, three to favorite receiver Justin Blackmon who ended the evening with 6 grabs for 174 yards.  “I feel pretty blessed to have a decent arm,” said Weeden, “but there’s a lot more to being a quarterback than having a good arm. Being accurate is the most important thing.”  The Cowboys fast start has left Weeden 6th in the nation in passing efficiency and 2nd in passing yards.  The Cowboys finished with 722 total yards of offense against Tulsa.  Vegas odds makers have the Oklahoma State Cowboys +8000 odds to win the 2011 BCS National Championship.

The Texas A & M Aggies are coming off a sloppy win 27-20 at home against the FIU Golden Panthers.  Quarterback Jerrod Johnson was just 11 for 31 for a touchdown but 4 interceptions against the 0-2 Panthers.  Johnson was also sacked six times in the first half but still seems to have the confidence of Coach Sherman.  The defense ranks 10th nationally but we will see how it is Thursday against a much tougher opponent that it has seen so far this season.  Texas A&M is 5-2 SU in its last 7 games when playing on the road against Oklahoma State and the total has gone OVER in 10 of Texas A&M’s last 12 games on the road.  Odds makers at BetUS have the over/under for the total score at 67 points combined of the Texas A & M Aggies and Oklahoma State Cowboys.

I predict a big win and cover for Oklahoma State at home.  Go Cowboys! Note: Rich Fritz is a Blog Writer on NSAwins.com and not a pro handicapper.
