South Carolina Gamecocks at Florida Gators 2010 NCAAF Week 11 Odds, Preview, Predictions

South Carolina Gamecocks at Florida Gators 2010 NCAAF Week 11 Odds, Preview, and Predictions:  Head football coach Steve Spurrier will take the South Carolina Gamecocks into the Swamp where he once led the Florida Gators to a National Championship but now will be facing a hostile crowd on Saturday at 7:15 PM ET at Ben Hill Griffin Stadium on ESPN.  The Gamecocks enter the game tied with the Gators at 6-3, 4-3 1st place in the SEC East with a trip to Atlanta and the SEC Championship game on the line.  “We’re going to find out if we can perform on the big stage, and this is the big stage down there, one of the biggest in the nation,” Spurrier said. “We’re going down there understanding the importance, but also understanding it’s a football game, and to play your best, you have to be somewhat relaxed, you can’t get all hyper and tensed up and scared and stuff like that,” he said.  A win would give South Carolina its first SEC East title and trip to the big show for the SEC Championship.  Vegas odds makers have the Florida Gators a -6 point favorite at home against the South Carolina Gamecocks.

The Gators have won 2 consecutive on the heels of a 3 game losing streak to gain momentum 55-14 against Vanderbilt moving them to 4-4-1 against the spread for the season.  Quarterback John Brantley completed 11 for 18 for 157 yards and 2 touchdowns.  “We want to be fighting for a spot in the SEC championship game in November, and that’s what we’re doing,” Florida quarterback John Brantley said. “We put ourselves in a position we didn’t want to be in, but we stuck together, and now we’re fighting for our spot.”  “I like where our team is right now,” Florida coach Urban Meyer said. “I’m not talking about executing. I’m talking about development. You’re either going one way or another, and we’re heading in the right direction.”  Although they are not in the hunt for the BCS National Championship winning the SEC isn’t a bad year.

The Gamecocks are coming off a home loss 41-20 against the Arkansas Razorbacks.  Quarterback Stephen Garcia completed 14 of 29 for 161 yards a touchdown but had 2 interceptions also rushing 7 times for 54 yards.  South Carolina is 1-4 ATS in its last 5 games on the road and the total has gone OVER in 4 of South Carolina’s last 6 games when playing Florida.  Odds makers at SportsInterAction have the over/under for the total score at 51 1/2 points combined of the South Carolina Gamecocks and Florida Gators.

I like the Gators to win at home!
