2015 Free College Football Picks – Week 7 Expert College Football Picks for 10/17/15

2015-College-Football-Picks-and-Predictions2015 Free College Football Picks – Week 7 Expert College Football Picks for 10/17/15: There was an early start to the big games in Week 7 of the college football season with Stanford putting on an offensive assault in a victory over UCLA. After being left for dead, the Cardinal are suddenly very much in the mix for a spot in the College Football Playoff if they can continue to impress.

The big games are just getting started, and looking ahead to this weekend’s slate, there are five games between ranked opponents that all have major implications at the conference and national levels. As usual, the SEC is involved in a couple of those games, but the Big Ten is also represented with a pair of games that will ultimately go a long way in deciding who plays in the Big Ten title game at the end of the year. Check out our free college football picks for week 7 below plus check our homepage on NSAwins.com for expert college football picks against the spread on Saturday.

2015 Free College Football Picks – Week 7 Expert College Football Picks for 10/17/15

No. 17 Iowa Hawkeyes at No. 20 Northwestern Wildcats

The winner of this game will be in control of its own destiny in the Big Ten West, so this is a huge game for both sides. Fittingly, both teams have been following a similar recipe for success, compensating for mediocre offenses with stifling defenses. Northwestern has the most impressive victory of the two after shocking Stanford in the season opener, but the Wildcats’ confidence has to be a concern after a 38-0 loss to Michigan last weekend. Not to mention the fact that Iowa beat Northwestern 48-7 last year. I don’t think the gap has closed that much in the span of one season.

Prediction: Iowa Hawkeyes (-2) Cover the Spread

No. 10 Alabama Crimson Tide at No. 9 Texas A&M Aggies

The Crimson Tide blasted the Aggies last year 59-0 in Tuscaloosa, but Texas A&M has improved a lot on both sides of the ball and has its passing attack rolling right now. Recent history has shown that Alabama’s vaunted defense can struggle against a quality spread attack, and the Aggies themselves gained over 1,000 yards combined against the Crimson Tide in 2012 and 2013. Playing at home should help the Aggies, as well, and if there is one type of team that can give Nick Saban’s teams issues, it is a team like Texas A&M with a strong quarterback and an explosive, complex passing game. I’ll take a Texas A&M bunch getting points on its home field.

Prediction: Texas A&M Aggies (+4) Cover the Spread

No. 7 Michigan State Spartans at No. 12 Michigan Wolverines

With the Wolverines surging and the Spartans squeaking by inferior competition, it is easy to understand why Michigan is favored at home. However, the Spartans have done their best work in recent years as the underdog, winning nine of the last 14 games in which they were getting points and covering 12 times over the same stretch. I expect the trend to continue in a hard-hitting, lower-scoring game that comes down to the wire. I expect Michigan State will be focused for this rivalry game and play like the team that was a popular pick to reach the College Football Playoff before the season began. Win or lose, I expect the Spartans to cover.

Prediction: Michigan State Spartans (+7.5) Cover the Spread

No. 8 Florida Gators at No. 6 LSU Tigers

After an impressive road win over Missouri in Week 6, the Gators looked poised to give the Tigers all they could handle. However, Florida’s starting QB Will Grier has since been suspended, putting Treon Harris and his 51 percent completion rate under center at one of the most hostile environments in college football. Without Grier to take their offense to the next level, the Gators aren’t going to be able to manufacture enough offense to keep pace with an LSU power ground attack led by the unstoppable Leonard Fournette. The Tigers will wear down the Gators and pull away to a comfortable win.

Prediction: LSU Tigers (-7) Cover the Spread
