Boston College +15.5 over Clemson – The Boston College Eagles come into this week 3-3 overall against the 5-0 Clemson Tigers on the road. The spread on this game indicates a blowout but we certainly don’t see it or expect it. Boston College’s defense is 2nd overall in the nation and has pretty much shut down and contained every team it’s played thus far including Florida State who only had 217 total yards of offense and 14 points against BC. Clemson’s offense has posted 40 points or more in three of their five games thus far but were contained against solid defenses in Notre Dame and Louisville who held the Tigers to just 24 and 20 points. We look for Boston College’s defense to keep Clemson to 24 points or less in this matchup Saturday night and if BC’s offense can simply get into double figures they should pull out a cover against the spread at worst. At best, don’t be surprised if BC has a chance in the 4th quarter to pull off a huge upset as their defense is that good and should give their offense every opportunity to steal this game. Take the points.

Alabama -4 over Texas A&M – Head coach Nick Saban’s Alabama Crimson Tide take their 4-1 overall record on the road in the SEC this week to battle the 5-0 Texas A&M Aggies. Alabama still has plans on winning the SEC West and getting into the College Football Playoff despite and early season home loss to Ole Miss. Bama went on the road 2 weeks ago and destroyed a very good Georgia team 38-10 and should be able to get the job done this week on the road in College Station. Texas A&M is undefeated but the best teams they’ve beaten so far are good but far from great Arizona State and Mississippi State teams at home. Alabama crushed the Aggies 59-0 last season in Tusacaloosa and this game will certainly be closer than that but Bama’s dominant defense should control this game and we expect a double digit Bama win and cover on the spread.

Michigan State +8.5 over Michigan – This line is an absolute joke and sharp bettors will be all over Michigan State on Saturday. Michigan is 5-1 overall but has anyone taken a good look at who they beat and dominated so far? Sorry, but we’re not buying into this Michigan team being a Top 10 team and a Big Ten contender simply because they’ve beaten the likes of Oregon St, UNLV, BYU, Maryland and Northwestern. Please. Not exactly a murderer’s row to say the least. This week they play a 6-0 Michigan State team that has owned them by winning 6 of the last 7 years including wins the last two seasons by a combined 64-17 score. Michigan State is one of those teams that plays up or down to the level of their competition but when they come to play you can expect them to compete with anyone in the nation. The -8.5 spread on this game is simply a joke because we still believe Michigan State is the better team in this matchup and should be favored or an underdog of 1 or 2 points at most. Take the +8.5 points and laugh all the way to the bank.
