Temple at Cincinnati UNDER 52 – Head coach Matt Rhule and his Temple Owls made a big statement in week 1 by beating a solid Penn State team 27-10 at home. The defense was once again outstanding for the Owls as they picked up right where they left off in 2014 when they finished 1st in the AAC and 4th nationally in scoring defense as they allowed just 17.5 points per game. They will take their act on the road to Paul Brown Stadium to take on head coach Tommy Tubberville’s Cincinnati Bearcats in what should be another low scoring affair. The Bearcats feasted on Alabama A&M 52-10 in week 1 but they’ll have a much tougher time scoring in week 2 against Temple’s stout defense. These two teams played last year with Cincinnati winning 14-6 on the road at Temple and we look for another low scoring affair this week. Play the UNDER 52 points.

Boise State -2.5 over BYU – Boise State welcomed back old head coach Chris Peterson to the blue turf in week 1 and hung on to beat his Washington Huskies 16-13. While not a thing of beauty, it was a solid opening win against a Power 5 conference opponent for head coach Bryan Harsin’s Broncos and that should give them a lot of confidence going forward. Boise State has the type of talent that could enable them to make a run at a perfect season this year and they will be tough for BYU to hang with even at home. BYU lost it’s best player and starting quarterback in Taysom Hill in their big 33-28 week 1 win at Nebraska and it’s hard to imagine the team and offense being able to recover emotionally and on the field this week against a much better Boise State team. Boise State beat BYU 55-30 last season and we don’t expect this game to be close either. Play Boise St -2.5 points.

Bowling Green @ Maryland OVER 67 Maryland opened up the season with a big 50-21 blowout win over cream puff Richmond like they were supposed to. Now they’ll welcome in MAC for Bowling Green to Grass of Byrd Stadium as they look to keep the offense humming against a weak sister Bowling Green defense. The Falcons were ambushed 59-30 in their season opener at Tennessee in week 1 as they showed once again that they can put up points against almost everyone while also giving up a ton of points to any offense with a pulse. Bowling Green finished 106th nationally in scoring defense last season as they allowed 33.5 points per game and we saw nothing in week 1 to believe that they will be much improved, if at all, this season. Expect this game to be a high scoring affair as neither team has a defense worth talking about while both offenses will be able to move the ball at will for all 4 quarters. The last team with the ball may very well be the winner on Saturday. Play the OVER 67 points to the bank.
