2015 March Madness Bracket Predictions & Expert Picks: Round of 64 Upset Specials for Each Region

2015-Free-March-Madness-Bracket-Picks-and-Predictions2015 March Madness Bracket Predictions & Expert Picks: Round of 64 Upset Specials for Each Region: Is there anything more exciting than the first two days of the NCAA tournament? From buzzer-beaters and wild finishes to David slaying the proverbial Goliath, everyone loves a Cinderella story during March Madness. Of course, everyone wants to be the one that calls the surprise upset pick of the early rounds, but the truth is that picking too many upsets is only going to ruin your bracket in the long run. That being said, nailing the sleeper teams of the NCAA tournament can give your bracket the edge on the competition or allow you to score a big payoff on a single game bet. With that in mind, here is a closer look at one serious upset that could happen in each of the four regions of the 2015 NCAA tournament.

2015 March Madness Bracket Expert Predictions and Picks

South Region: Eastern Washington over Georgetown

Georgetown’s recent NCAA tournament history is about as ugly as it gets. The Hoyas have bowed out in their first game in three of the last four years, and all three times the early exit has been at the hands of a double-digit seed. Granted, a team can change a lot from one year to the next, but the Hoyas continue to be a below average offensive team, especially against tougher competition. Enter the Eagles, who are one of the most prolific offensive teams in the country. Led by the country’s leading scorer, Tyler Harvey, Eastern Washington ranks third in the country in scoring, averaging 80.8 points per game. The Eagles also rank sixth in the country in 3-pointers per game, and six players can knock down shots from beyond the arc. Look for Harvey and company to stun the Hoyas with an offensive barrage.

East Region: Wyoming over Northern Iowa

Northern Iowa isn’t 30-3 by accident, but the Panthers’ style of play isn’t going to help them in this particular matchup. Northern Iowa plays at one of the slowest paces in the country, and while slowing down the game can frustrate most opponents, it isn’t going to bother a Wyoming team loves to grind out low-scoring games, as well. Perhaps more importantly, the Cowboys have an experienced big man in Larry Nance Jr. that is capable of holding his own against Northern Iowa star Seth Tuttle. Throw in the fact that Northern Iowa’s style of play tends to allow teams to hang around, and the Cowboys should definitely have a shot at stealing this one.

West Region: Georgia State over Baylor

Give the Bears credit for keeping their heads above water in a very deep Big 12 conference, but there is no denying that Baylor is not a very good offensive basketball team. Yes, Rico Gathers is a punishing rebounder, but the Bears really don’t have a go-to scorer. Georgia State on the other hand has a dynamic scoring duo in R.J. Hunter and Ryan Harrow, who are both averaging more than 18.0 points per game. The Panthers also have Louisville transfer Kevin Ware, and the experience he gained during the Cardinals’ run to the national title certainly won’t hurt. The bottom line is that the Panthers will probably have the best player on the court in Hunter, and if they can handle Baylor’s physicality, they have the weapons to pull the upset.

Midwest Region: Texas over Butler

While you can certainly argue that the Longhorns didn’t deserve to be in the march madness bracket, there is no denying that they are a dangerous team now that they are in the field, especially for the Bulldogs. Butler isn’t a particularly big team, and Texas features one of the biggest frontcourts in the country with Jonathan Holmes, Cameron Ridley and Myles Turner. Meanwhile, the Longhorns’ backcourt duo of Isaiah Taylor and Javan Felix is finally healthy. Butler is a solid all-around team, but the Longhorns’ size is going to make them a matchup nightmare for the Bulldogs.
