2010 NIT Tournament Semifinals Odds – Dayton vs Ole Miss, Rhode Island vs North Carolina

Vegas odds for the 2010 NIT Tournament semifinals are now posted on NSAwins.com and vegas oddsmakers have made Dayton a -1 point favorite against Mississippi in the opening game(7PM EST on ESPN2) and Rhode Island a -1 point favorite against North Carolina in the nightcap(9PM EST on ESPN2) at New York City’s Madison Square Garden. The total is set at 142 for the Dayton/Ole Miss matchup and 151 for the Rhode Island/North Carolina showdown. Both games should be very close in the eyes of many College Basketball experts, as not much seperates all four clubs. Dayton(23-12) has been arguably the most impressive team thus far in the NIT Tournament, as they hammered Illinois St 63-42 in their opening game and then went on the road at Cincinnati to win 81-66 and at Illinois to win 77-71 to make it to the semifinals. Their opponent tonight, Mississippi(24-10), easily won it’s 1st two games vs Troy(84-65) and Memphis(90-81) but was forced to survive overtime at home in a 90-87 win vs Texas Tech to make it to tonight’s semifinals. Rhode Island(26-9) has the most wins of all four teams and many people felt the Rams should have made the NCAA Tournament. Rhode Island crushed Northwestern 76-64 in it’s opening game, survived 85-83 at home vs Nevada in round 2 and then went on the road to upset Virginia Tech 79-72 to make it to the Garden. North Carolina(19-16) is the biggest surprise to make it to the NIT semis, as Roy Williams’ squad struggled all season but has put it all together in the NIT. The Tar Heels beat William & Mary 80-72 in round 1, went on the road to beat Miss St 76-74 in round 2 and then upset UAB 60-55 on the road in the quarterfinals. NSAwins.com’s expert handicapper Steve Kendall looks for both matchups to play OVER the total tonight(Dayton/Ole Miss OVER 142, Rhode Island/UNC over 151).
