Miami (Fl) Hurricanes at Pittsburgh Panthers 2010 NCAAF Week 4 Odds, Preview, Predictions

Miami (Fl) Hurricanes at Pittsburgh Panthers 2010 NCAAF Week 4 Odds, Preview, and Predictions:  Head football coach Randy Shannon takes his No. 13 Miami Hurricanes north to Heinz Field on Thursday night to take on Big East foe the Pittsburgh Panthers led by  head football coach Dave Wannstedt.  Shannon is a friend and former employee of Wannstedt and was irate at his team’s performance in its last outing at No. 2 Ohio State.  “I’ve never been a guy that just goes off,” the usually subdued Shannon said. “But they needed it at that time because I was frustrated. … Ohio State is a good football team, a great football team, but we made so many mistakes we didn’t give ourselves a chance.”  “Randy’s done a great job of getting talent in there, staying on the kids, graduation is important to him, all the things that someone from the outside might take for granted,” Wannstedt said. “He’s doing all those right things.”  Vegas odds makers have the Miami Hurricanes a -3 point favorite on the road against the Pittsburgh Panthers.

The Canes (1-1) had a week off to work on things after getting beat 36-24 on the road at the Ohio State Buckeyes where Heisman hopeful Jacory Harris was 22 for 39, 232 yards, a touchdown but 4 picks.  Miami was also penalized 8 times for 59 yards.  On the bright side they did run back a kickoff and a punt for touchdowns and Miami running back Damien Berry had 16 carries for 94 yards.  Another early loss would take Harris completely out of the running for and post season awards and Vegas odds makers have Jacory Harris +4800 odds to win the 2010 Heisman Trophy.

Pitt is also 1-1 but is coming off a victory and a bye week winning their last outing at home against New Hampshire 38-16.  Panther’s quarterback Tino Sunseri was 24 for 34 passing for 275 yards 2 touchdowns and a pick while 2nd team all-American running back Dion Lewis struggled gaining just 27 yards on 10 carries with a touchdown. Running back Ray Graham picked up the slack carrying 9 times for 115 yards, 2 touchdowns including a 64 yard scamper.  Pittsburgh is 2-4 ATS in its last 6 games when playing Miami.  Odds makers at BookMaker have the over/under for the total score at 50 1/2 points combined of the Miami (Fl) Hurricanes and Pittsburgh Panthers.
