2017 Ticket Galaxy 200 Odds & Predictions – Favorites, Contenders and Sleepers

2017 Ticket Galaxy 200 Odds & Predictions – Favorites, Contenders and Sleepers: Two races remain in the 2017 XFINITY Series season, and the pressure will be on the championship hopefuls when they visit Phoenix International Raceway this weekend. After Saturday’s Ticket Galaxy 200 is complete, the four drivers who will compete for this year’s title will be set.

The eight drivers still remaining in the playoffs can clinch an automatic spot in the championship finale, but getting a win won’t be easy with the Cup Series also in town. Several of the top, young Cup drivers will be pulling double duty, creating a very competitive field.

With that in mind, let’s take a closer at my top picks to win and potential sleepers for Saturday’s Ticket Galaxy 200 at Phoenix.

2017 Ticket Galaxy 200 Odds & Predictions – Favorites, Contenders and Sleepers

The Favorites

When Ryan Blaney has been in the XFINITY Series races this year, he has been a factor for the win. In 12 starts, he has piled up 11 top-five finishes, including a pair of wins. One of those top-five runs came at Phoenix back in March when he finished second. Don’t be surprised if he gets over the hump and into victory lane Saturday.

He has picked up three wins in the XFINITY Series this year, and Erik Jones could add to that total this weekend. He has a 4.8 average finish in six XFINITY starts at Phoenix, and he has never finished outside the top 10 at the track. Jones also has four top-five finishes at PIR, including a third-place run back in March.

The Contenders

His only other start in the XFINITY Series ended with a trip to victory lane, and Alex Bowman will be back in the No. 42 machine this weekend at Phoenix. Bowman has already shown what he can do in good equipment at Phoenix, leading 194 laps in the Cup race here last fall. In his first XFINITY Series starts here in good equipment, expect him to be a factor.

This is his first year making any starts in the XFINITY Series, but Christopher Bell is already making a serious impact. He has finished sixth or better in four of his six starts, and he has already visited victory lane. Armed with loads of talent and excellent Joe Gibbs Racing equipment, Bell’s Phoenix debut could end with a bang.

He has been one of the best XFINITY Series regulars all season, and Justin Allgaier is also one of the best in the business at Phoenix. He picked up the win at Phoenix back in March, and he has reeled off five straight top-five finishes at the track.

It hasn’t been a banner year in the XFINITY Series for Richard Childress Racing, but Austin Dillon knows how to get the job done at Phoenix. He was the runner-up at Phoenix last fall, and he has finished seventh or better in five of his last seven starts here.

The sample size is small, but William Byron made quite a first impression at Phoenix. He finished fourth in his track debut back in March, and he has picked up three wins since then. With more experience on his side this time around, the rookie could be a real factor for the win Saturday.

The Sleeper

He finished a disappointing 21st in Phoenix debut back in March, but Cole Custer has become one of the top series regulars in the second half of the year. He has been at his best at 1.5-mile tracks, but it wouldn’t be a surprise to see him make a huge leap in his second start at Phoenix. Custer has a puncher’s chance.
