2015 Xfinity Series Odds & Predictions: Hisense 250 Vegas Favorites, Contenders & Sleepers

2015-Xfinity-Series-Odds-Free-Picks-Predictions2015 Xfinity Series Odds & Predictions: Hisense 250 Vegas Favorites, Contenders & Sleepers: The Xfinity Series is back in action this weekend at Atlanta Motor Speedway, and for the second week in a row, the race will be a companion event with the Cup Series. As a result, several Cup drivers are scheduled to be in the field, but one big name that will be missing is Kyle Busch. The all-time leader in Xfinity Series victories will be sidelined indefinitely after breaking his right leg and left foot in a violent wreck at Daytona last weekend. With Busch out of the picture, things automatically become a little more wide open than normal. On that note, here is a closer look at the drivers to watch this weekend.

2015 Xfinity Series Odds & Predictions: Hisense 250 The Favorites

He is going for a three-peat at Atlanta in the Xfinity Series this weekend, and Kevin Harvick has an impeccable record at the track. He has finished fourth or better in the last eight races at the track, picking up three wins and two second-place finishes during the stretch. Harvick is basically a lock to be in contention for the win Saturday.

Although he finished a somewhat disappointing 11th at Atlanta in the Xfinity Series last year, Matt Kenseth has an overall record at the track that would make any driver jealous. He has seven top-five finishes in his last 10 starts at Atlanta, and during the stretch, he has picked up a pair of wins and a pair of second-place finishes.

While he has yet to win at Atlanta in the Xfinity Series, Joey Logano has had a strong showing in every start at the track. In four starts, he has compiled a 5.0 average finish, and he has never finished worse than sixth. Logano was the runner-up at Atlanta last year, and don’t be surprised if he ends up in victory lane this weekend.

His 4.0 average finish at Atlanta in the Xfinity Series is the best of any driver in the field this weekend, and it seems like only a matter of time before Kyle Larson ends up in victory lane. He finished fifth in his track debut in 2013, and last year, he finished third. For a young, talented driver like Larson, he should only improve with another year of experience under his belt.

2015 Xfinity Series Odds & Predictions: Hisense 250 The Contenders

He has made just one start at Atlanta, but Chase Elliott has already shown that he doesn’t need a bunch of experience to perform at a high level. After all, he won the series title as a rookie last year. He also finished fifth in his first-ever start at Atlanta and won two races at tracks with similar layouts. Elliott should only be better in his second year in the series.

While he didn’t have a ride for last year’s race at Atlanta, Sam Hornish Jr. has been rock solid when he has raced at the track. In three starts, he had collected three top-15 finishes, and Hornish has finished ninth and third in his last two starts at Atlanta in 2012 and 2013, respectively.

Last year, JR Motorsports had a banner day at Atlanta, placing three cars in the top six. Regan Smith was one of the drivers to contribute to the strong showing for the organization, and his sixth-place finish in 2014 came on the heels of a top-10 run at the track in 2013, as well. He should at least be in the mix this weekend.

2015 Xfinity Series Odds & Predictions: Hisense 250 The Sleeper

In the wake of Kyle Busch’s nasty injuries following last weekend’s wreck at Daytona, Erik Jones has been thrust behind the wheel of the Joe Gibbs Racing No. 54 machine. Experience is not on his side, but in three Xfinity Series starts for JGR last year, Jones picked up three top-10s. He has plenty of upside, and he could make some legit noise this weekend behind the wheel of some of the best equipment in the series.
