2015 Xfinity Series Odds & Predictions: Boyd Gaming 300 Expert Picks, Favorites, Contenders and Sleepers

2015-Xfinity-Series-Odds-Free-Picks-Predictions2015 Xfinity Series Odds & Predictions: Boyd Gaming 300 Expert Picks, Favorites, Contenders and Sleepers: The Xfinity Series heads to Las Vegas Motor Speedway, and although the race is a companion event with the Sprint Cup Series race, there are only a few Cup Series regulars slated to be in the field. On top of that, the Cup drivers that are pulling double duty are not the usual suspects like Kyle Busch, Joey Logano or Brad Keselowski. With that in mind, it wouldn’t be a surprise to see a series regular sneak into victory lane ahead of the big names Saturday, and here is a closer look at the top contenders and other drivers to keep an eye on.

2015 Xfinity Series Odds & Predictions: The Favorites

In a field surprisingly lacking in Cup regulars, Dale Earnhardt Jr. is one of the most decorated and experienced drivers in the field. His 23 Xfinity Series victories are the most of any driver in the field Saturday, and he has a 7.3 average finish in four career starts at Las Vegas. More importantly, he has finished sixth or better in three of his four starts at the track, including a fifth-place finish last year.

He will fill in for Kyle Busch this weekend in the Joe Gibbs Racing No. 54 car, and Denny Hamlin is easily one of the most talented drivers in the field. In addition to his extensive experience and production in the Cup Series, he has logged seventh or better in three of his last four starts at Las Vegas in the Xfinity Series, finishing as high as second.

2015 Xfinity Series Odds & Predictions: The Contenders

The 2013 Xfinity Series champ will pull double duty this weekend, and Austin Dillon should be a serious threat to win Saturday. After all, he has finished sixth and seventh in two previous starts at Las Vegas, and this weekend, he will return to the track with a year of Cup Series experience under his belt.

While he has never won a race at Las Vegas, Elliott Sadler has been in the mix in just about every start he has made at the track. In six stats, he has a 9.0 average finish, and he has never finished outside the top 15. More importantly, Sadler has finished in the top five in two of his last three starts at the track.

He has only made one start at Las Vegas, but Chase Elliott was very impressive in his track debut last year, notching a fifth-place finish. Of course, Elliott’s top-five finish at LVMS was just the start of an impressive season that ended with a series title and three victories. He should only be stronger with a full year of experience under his belt.

It will be Ryan Blaney’s turn behind the wheel of the Team Penske No. 22 this weekend, and last year, he amassed 10 top-five finishes and 13 top-10s in 14 starts for the team. Blaney is one of the best young drivers in the series, and he will be driving for one of the best teams. The combination will make him a contender in his debut at Las Vegas.

After closing the 2014 season on a high note, Ty Dillon is off to an even better start in 2015. He is one of two drivers to open the year with back-to-back top-five finishes, and he has actually finished third in both races so far. Dillon has finished 11th in his two previous starts at Las Vegas, but he could be in for a breakout performance at the track Saturday.

2015 Xfinity Series Odds & Predictions: The Sleepers

He finished ninth at Las Vegas last season, and Chris Buescher is off to an impressive start in his second year in the Xfinity Series. He has opened the season with finishes of second and fourth, and after managing a top-10 finish at LVMS last year, Buescher should be even more of a factor this weekend.
