Free MLB Picks and Odds: Cleveland Indians @ Toronto Blue Jays Favorite, Moneyline, Total and Predictions 5/31/11: The Cleveland Indians learned firsthand what kind of power the Toronto Blue Jays possess, the Jays were able to light the Indians up for 11 runs. The tribe showed lingering effects of their long flight from Tampa Bay and there was an apparent fatigue factor on the field. The league leaders in runs, the Cleveland Indians were only able to muscle in 1 run against a pitcher that has not won in the majors in over 2 years. Yet, for all of the trouble they had yesterday, the Cleveland Indians are still the best club in baseball to this point in the season. They have an offense that is running on an entirely new motor and a pitching rotation that is running with the bulls to this point. Their newfound legitimacy can be attributed to the years and years of development and key acquisitions that team management has executed. The Indians are not a club that has the flexibility to pay their way into the playoffs with large signees, but rather they rely on sound draft choices and effective training. Their minor league system is next to none and they foster a strong sense of teamwork and hard work down in those ranks.

Finally! Jo-Jo Reyes finally picked up a victory last night, his first in 29 starts. It has been a long time coming and the shifty right hander has gone through much turmoil throughout that time. He has elevated his play on the mound to an entirely new level since being acquired by the Jays this past offseason and he is fitting in quite nicely in the Jays five man rotation. Starting games off slow was a knock on the righty for the past couple of seasons, but it seems as though this trait may be something he will lose before the end of the baseball year. He is transforming into a solid starting pitcher with his effective breaking ball and deceptive curve. If the season ended today the MVP of the league would have to be Jays outfielder Jose Bautista. After winning the homerun crown a year ago, the savvy veteran has backed up his play with another huge start to this campaign. He is driving in runs, not solely on the heels of long balls, but also with timely singles and doubles.

The complimentary selection tonight will be the Cleveland Indians(Check latest lines at BetGuardian Sportsbook) in the second tilt of their three game set with the Toronto Blue Jays. Mitch Talbot will get the ball for the Indians tonight and he will be looking to rebound after an ugly performance on Wednesday afternoon in Boston. He allowed 7 runs in the first inning on way to allowing 8 runs and on 12 hits. Talbot was just activated off the 15 day DL to take part in that affair and it might have been too much, too early for the south paw to handle. Talbot is an extremely viable pitcher and he has 3 solid big-league pitches that has gotten him to this point in his career. He is not afraid of any batters and he likes to be aggressive over the plate, strong attributes of a solid left-handed hurler. The Blue Jays have been playing lights out ball for over a week now and it might be time for them to fall back to earth. They will send Brendan Morrow to the mound tonight who is just not the same pitcher as he was a year ago. His location is all over the place, he gets behind in counts, and most notably, his velocity is far below his norm. He is trying to compensate for his loss in velocity be throwing un-proven pitches, pitches that batters are having field days with. The Indians are not a club that you want to experiment with and I believe the tribe will take advantage of a mending pitcher for the Jays. We will consider the Cleveland Indians pulling this series even with a win here tonight. Cheers!
