Lightning @ Bruins Game 7 Odds and Predictions – Free NHL Picks 5-27-11

Free NHL Playoffs Picks and Odds – Game 7 Tampa Bay Lightning @ Boston Bruins Favorite, Moneyline, Total and Predictions 5/27/11: So it comes down to this, the Tampa Bay Lightning have forced the pivotal game 7 outing and will attempt to make the Stanley Cup Finals for the 2nd time in the last five years. Game 6 was a see-saw affair but in the end the Lightning were the hungrier club and the five goals they notched were all the result of determination and will. They might have the fastest and most talented nucleus in the entire league, their skill set signs in virtually every game they enter into. This nucleus is also under wraps for the next few seasons to come, so game 7 performances in the eastern conference finals might come to be second “fiddle” to this southern bunch. Steven Stamkos is blossoming into one of the best two-way forwards in the entire league and he will be hungry for a win tonight. He is best complemented when he has Lecavalier and St.Louis on his sides due to their agile play and quick puck movement. Coach Boucher will need to reinsert this line tonight in order for optimal opportunity of escaping bean town with a game 7 victory.

The Boston Bruins are no stranger to game 7 affairs, in fact, they lead NHL franchises in all-time game 7 performances. They showed up in west Florida on Wednesday night but were not able to last three full periods as it was quite evident that a fatigue factor settled in late in the third. Tim Thomas did not have a Thomas like outing and he will need to be much sharper tonight to push his club through to the finals. The Bruins will need to come out of the gates quickly in order to prevent the momentum gained in game 6 on the side of the Lightning to grow. Patrice Bergeron will be reinserted to the starting lineup tonight and Boston faithful could not be more thrilled. Bergeron has not only lead the offense for the Bruins in this years Stanley Cup playoffs, but he has also provided one of the loudest physical presences as well.

In game 7 of the eastern conference finals we will recommend a play on the Boston Bruins. The Bruins management have been slowly stock piling assets for the last three years in order to get to this point. Although not said publicly, the Bruins personnel and management knew last year was not the year designed for success. The 2011 campaign was the focal point three years back and now the Bruins are right where they want to be, aside from a game 7 affair against one of the most promising clubs in the league. Boston has four lines that can skate, hit, and score, but also have the mentality to back check and commit to the defensive side of the game. The reasoning behind this selection has no stats nestled into it because stats are thrown out the window when discussing a game 7. Tampa Bay has played spoiler to two strong clubs in this postseason already but there are signs that they do not possess the physicality and mental edge to get to the finals. Often times in this series we have witnessed the young Tampa club take selfish and unnecessary penalties, traits of non-Stanley Cup finals’ clubs. Boston has a great home presence and their fans are next to none in the entire league. Tonight I believe we will see the more gritty Bruins club come out, rather than the fast and reckless bunch. Tim Thomas has the Conn Smythe etchers already putting his name into the trophy as he is having a fantastic postseason campaign. He performs well when the lights are on and the pressure is turned up, I do not see him collapsing in this game 7, winner take-all affair. We will consider the Bruins pushing through with a dominant victory tonight, but their celebration should not last too long as they will need to prepare for the daunting challenge of facing the Canucks. Cheers!

Bruins @ Lightning Game 6 Odds and Predictions – Free NHL Picks 5-25-11

Free NHL Playoffs Picks and Odds – Game 6 Boston Bruins at Tampa Bay Lightning Favorite, Moneyline, Total and Predictions 5/25/11: The Tampa Bay Lightning are on their last breath in this eastern conference finals affair, but they are defiantly not out of it. They have been competitive and aggressive in the five games of this series thus far but have yet to capitalize on any bounces their way. The Bolts’ will be inserting goaltender Dwayne Roloson back between the pipes tonight in hopes he can rekindle his game and form, which is so desperately needed at this point. Roloson was bounced from the starting lineup earlier in this series because he was not allowing his team the opportunity to stay in hockey games. He was giving up soft goals and too many ‘juicy’ rebounds to the puck happy Bruins. Steven Stamkos has not been himself in this series but he has been given a vote of confidence across the board and he should be ready to go tonight in game 6.

One game away is the last thing on the Boston Bruins minds tonight, as they know the complications that can arise from thinking too far. In last year’s postseason run they coughed up their season from four consecutive losses to the Montreal Canadians. Up three games to none, the Boston Bruins believed they could coast their way into the second round of the NHL playoffs but their careless approach and conservative approach turned to bite them in the rear. The Bruins know the dangers of giving momentum away to the Tampa Bay Lightning and they will stop at nothing to wrap up the series tonight. Tim Thomas is the story for the Bruins in this series as he has single handily stolen games from the Lightning with his quick glove and impressive technique. If he can guide his team through to a Stanley Cup then he is all but assured of the Conn Smythe for this years playoffs.

Tonight we will recommend a play on the Tampa Bay Lightning(Get the latest lines at JustBET Sportsbook). The Bruins have, to this point, been receiving some pretty fruitful bounces and luck come their way. Several goals in this series for the Bruins were the exact result of errant bounces or misfortunate, on the Lightning’s side, deflections. That is not to take anything away from the Bruins 3-2 series lead, but the series has been extremely tight and the Lightning’ are not out of it by any means. Steven Stamkos has been quite average thus far in this series but there are signs he is about to break loose. He has seen flying around the ice in game 5, creating opportunities and providing some exciting hockey for fans. He is a dynamic two way player and a competitive one at that, he will be firing on all cylinders tonight to stave off elimination. Tampa Bay has great home ice presence and I expect the fans to give them the added boost to perform tonight. Tampa Bay is 4-1 SU in its last 5 games at home and is 9-3 SU in its last 12 games. Let’s not forget, this Tampa club disposed of the mighty Washington Capitals in 4 straight, so the talent and mindset is there. We will consider the Lightning pushing this series back to Bean town for the all enticing game 7 affair. Cheers!

Canucks at Sharks Game 3 Odds and Predictions – Free NHL Picks 5-20-11

Free NHL Playoffs Picks and Odds – Game 3 Vancouver Canucks at San Jose Sharks Favorite, Moneyline, Total and Predictions 5/20/11: The Vancouver Canucks are feasting on the San Jose Sharks careless play, which has rendered them two games up in the western conference final. There 7-2 thrashing of the Sharks in game two might have been their most dominant performance of the season as all four lines were top notch. They excelled at turning the Sharks carless mistakes into points. Vancouver notched 5 tallies simply from converting on errant passes or careless line changes. The Sedin Twins finally seem to be rounding into form as the pair accounted for 4 points on the night and were seen creating opportunities on each of their shifts in the game. Ryan Kesler is a determined man and he is putting together one of the most ferocious and dominant playoff campaigns in some time. There is never a shift where the American sniper is not seen fighting for the puck in the corners, making a hard-crisp pass from the defensive zone, creating a scoring opportunity, or even laying a big-time playoff hit. He is leading by example and his play is contagious across the board for the entire Canucks hockey club. The Canucks have to at least grab 1 of the 2 games in San Jose because the last thing they want is to give a momentum rush to the side of the Sharks.

The Sharks are in crisis mode early in this west final and desperately need to find their furious attack that has gotten them to this point. They have had no answers for the Canucks fast-paced style of hockey and are seen on countless occurrences out of position, dazed and confused. In order for the Sharks to get back into this series they will have to revert from attempting to play the Canucks brand of hockey and turn back to their style, hard-noised, aggressive puck. The intensity and physicality needs to be bumped up 10 notches for the Sharks to have an optimal opportunity of getting back into this series. Head coach Todd McClellan will need to raise the aggressiveness of the entire hockey club for game three, no better place to commence this approach then on home ice. The Sharks have been quite successful this season when playing in the confines of the “tank”, they are top 5 in home winning percentage and have one of the better crowds in the entire league.

Tonight we will recommend a play on the San Jose Sharks at home in the Shark Tank(Get the latest lines at JustBET Sportsbook). The Sharks were humiliated in game two in Vancouver 7-2 and if we have come to know one thing about the Sharks, it is that they hate being embarrassed. In fact, the Sharks have come out victorious in every game this season when coming off of a loss of 4 goals or more. San Jose played two solid periods with the Canucks but was gassed when the puck dropped for the third frame. The San Jose Sharks are no slouch in a hockey club and I expect them to claw their way back into this series. The top line of Joe Thornton, Danny Heatley, and Patrick Marleau is arguably the most talented unit in the league and they all love playing in the confines of their own barn. For all of the Canucks success over the last few seasons, they have never fared playing in the Shark Tank. The Canucks have a winning percentage of .387 in San Jose over the last five seasons and Roberto Lulongo has never emerged victorious in a single playoff game when playing the Californian green and black. Vancouver is 2-6 SU in its last 8 games when playing on the road against San Jose, while San Jose is 11-3 SU in its last 14 games at home. The Sharks have faced adversity in their two previous series’ and I do not expect them to crumble at this point. We will consider the Sharks coming out in furry and pulling this series back into contention. Cheers!

Sharks at Canucks Game 2 Odds and Predictions – Free NHL Picks 5-18-11

Free NHL Playoffs Picks and Odds – Game 2 San Jose Sharks at Vancouver Canucks Favorite, Moneyline, Total and Predictions 5/18/11: The Sharks put up a valiant fight in game 1 of the western conference finals, but wound up tiring late in the game, which in the end rendered them a game down in the series. They were just coming off of a momentous game 7 triumph over the Detroit Red Wings and were skating on second wind for most of the contest. They were competitive for the majority of game 1 and stood to win the game early in the third period until the Canucks took the game over from there. Antti Niemmi was solid in the pipes for San Jose and was not the reason for the game 1 loss. He was seen making point blank saves and used great positioning and solid technique to rob a few of the Canuck skaters. For the Sharks to have success in this series they will have to rely on Niemmi to steal a game or two. Nagging injuries and ailments are hindering the teams most productive skaters in Thornton, Marleau, and Clowe. The Wings’ series was aggressive and pounding, the 7 games took a toll on all Sharks players. It might be wise for head coach McClellan to ease the minutes of some of the skaters with ailments and devise a game plan where not much is sacrificed in terms of production.

The Vancouver Canucks are without a doubt the most talented and powerful hockey club in the league when they are clicking on all cylinders. They proved their critics wrong on Sunday night when they managed to overcome the Sharks in game 1. They came out of the gates slow and weary, but managed to find their legs late in the contest and executed a fortifying defensive front to come away with the victory. Roberto Lulongo is putting forth his claim for the Conn Smythe this postseason as it seems he is getting stronger and stronger between the pipes with each given outing. He shut down the Sharks special teams unit on Sunday night and gave up little in the area of rebounds. The Sedin twins both looked solid in game 1, but have yet to hit their top speed. The Canucks are hoping that the two of them can rekindle their regular season magic in hopes of having the two on top speed when, or if, the Stanley Cup finals commence.

Tonight we will recommend a play on the Vancouver Canucks. The Canucks know they cannot give an inch to this hungry Sharks club and they would love nothing more to put them in a series deficit early. The Canucks themselves were not on their ‘A’ game, so to speak, on Sunday night and I expect at much more feisty approach tonight. Roberto Lulongo is blossoming into a prototypical Conn Smythe recipient a right around the correct time in the postseason; his play is garnering his team to be more aggressive offensively. Vancouver leads the postseason in terms of defensive production, as they lead in scoring, assists, even shots. The Sharks do not match up against the Canucks as well as they did against the Red Wings, the speed and creativeness of the Canucks is a lot for the Sharks to adapt too. The Red Wings series also proved very costly for San Jose in terms of ailments and bruises. Joe Thornton and Patrick Marleau are both playing hurt, although they will never say anything, and these injuries are hindering their ability to be productive on the ice. We will consider the Canucks sinking the Sharks into an early hole in the west finals with a follow up victory tonight on home ice. Cheers!

Sharks at Canucks Game 1 Odds and Predictions – Free NHL Picks 5-15-11

Free NHL Playoffs Picks and Odds – Game 1 San Jose Sharks at Vancouver Canucks Favorite, Moneyline, Total and Predictions 5/15/11: The San Jose Sharks watched as they gave up their three game series lead to the Detroit Red Wings, but only to win an exciting game 7 tilt. The series looked all but over after the Sharks wrapped up an overtime victory in game 3, but the Wings surged back with hard work and determination and forced the deciding affair. The Wings exposed the Sharks carefree approach to the back check and forced the Sharks to commit some careless penalties. But in the end, it was mighty Joe Thornton who led his club in game 7 to victory by providing one of his most brilliant performances of his career. It will take the type of passion and determination that Thornton played with in game 7 to get by the Vancouver Canucks in the western conference finals. The Sharks have not faired well against the presidents trophy winners from this seasons past, they dropped 3 of 4 games in the regular season and gave up 16 goals in those 4 outings. It will be imperative for the Sharks to being each game hot and seek out the first tally, in the three losses they accumulated this year to the Canucks they fell behind early in each of those tilts. The fact that the Canucks currently own home ice advantage in this series does not alter the mind set of the Sharks one bit, in fact San Jose has performed quite admirably on the road all season long. The x-factor to these series will be goaltender Antti Niemmi, he will need to have the series of his life and lead his team to the Stanley Cup Finals. He has been shaky at times this postseason, but has also flashed some brilliance.

Next up, the San Jose Sharks. The Vancouver Canucks have gotten by two clubs that have posed them problems for many years now in the Chicago Blackhawk’s and the Nashville Predators, but will now enter a series against a team that have held a margin of victory over for the past few campaigns. The Canucks have owned the Sharks at home and on the road for the past three seasons and feel quite confident that they can improve this stat on way to a Stanley Cup Finals appearance. It took 6 outings, but the Canucks earned a little bit of time off after they disposed of the Predators last week. The series exposed a few glaring needs that the club needs to focus on heading into tonight’s opening tilt with the Sharks. The Canucks were caught several times throughout their second round affair giving up off man rushes. The reason for this trend was due to the fact that players were taking line changes at inopportune moments, defensemen getting caught in a pinch, and poor transitional offense. It will be imperative for the Canucks to reverse this misfortune in time for tonight as the Sharks feast on neutral zone turnovers. One thing the Canucks can feel fortunate about after their second round win is that Ryan Kesler is finally charged and ready now. After the first series Kesler had no goals to show for and he was receiving plenty of scrutiny for that stat. But the second round series saw the all-star forward heat up and he is without a doubt the best player on the ice for the Canucks on each given night.

Tonight we will recommend a play on the Vancouver Canucks to open up the western conference finals. The Sharks are coming off of a grueling and frustrating 7 game series with the Detroit Red Wings, they are tired and banged up. San Jose now has to play the Canucks in their barn to open up the west finals, not the best ingredients for an upset bid. Vancouver has owned the Sharks this entire season, and although this is supposed to be a new season, I expect the Canucks to improve this stat tonight. Roberto Lulongo is determined to hoist the cup this year, he will be ready to challenge the speedy Sharks forwards for three periods tonight. Vancouver is 5-2 SU in its last 7 games and have benefited from the extra time off since their game 6 victory in the music city. We will consider the Canucks skating to a hard earned game 1 victory tonight in front of their boisterous Rogers Arena crowd. Cheers!

Red Wings at Sharks Game 7 Odds and Predictions – Free NHL Picks 5-12-11

Free NHL Playoffs Picks and Odds – Game 7 Detroit Red Wings at San Jose Sharks Favorite, Moneyline, Total and Predictions 5/12/11: The Detroit Red Wings are one step closer to completing the impossible. Last night, in front of a packed house at Joe Louis Arena, the Wings erased a 1 goal deficit and skated to a 3-1 win over the slumping San Jose Sharks. The game was won in the trenches as the Wings scored the go ahead goal by digging the puck out of the corner and setting up the tally. The determination and will the Red Wings showed on Tuesday night was indicative of the coaching philosophies pasted down by their head coach Mike Babcock. As times were dark and grim a week ago for Detroit it was Babcock who continued to pound the message that they needed to work a little harder and skate a little faster. The three wins the Wings have accumulated in this series were simply won by hard work and mental toughness. Each player is taking accountability for their play and effort and it has paid off on the score sheet and playoff bracket. The Wings, however, would be no where if it were not for the brilliance and poise of goaltender Jimmy Howard. A question mark coming into the playoffs, Howard has responded to media scrutiny by putting together an exceptional postseason campaign. He is making the big save needed to turn games and he has also already stolen a few games this postseason run, essential elements of a championship winning team. Howard will need to find a comfortable groove early in San Jose to avert the Wings from missing another Stanley Cup finals appearance.

The San Jose Sharks are experiencing your prototypical playoff breakdown. Up 3 games to 0 is usually a series that is all but in the books, but the Sharks have not been able to answer the Wings furry of determination in the past three outings. In order to avert one of the greatest playoff collapses in recent memory the Sharks will have to dictate the play on Thursday night and come out of the gates smoking. The first three wins saw the Sharks start fast and end fast, wheras the past three loses have seen San Jose start slow and end slow. Joe Thornton will need to rally his troops to seek the first goal in this tilt as the team who has scored the first goal has won 85% of games this postseason. Antti Niemi will have to make a few saves he not suppose too, as well. Niemi has been shaky to say the least in this series and many are questioning whether head coach McClellan should make a move in net prior to Thursday nights puck drop.

The complimentary selection in game 7 will be the Detroit Red Wings on road ice. The Wings have proven over the past three games that they are the superior club as analysts believed before the series commenced action. They are four lines deep and they have the game’s best defensemen logging the better half of the games minutes. Jimmy Howard might be the most underrated goaltender in the game and he is a serious candidate for the Conn Smythe if he can steer his club to a finals appearance. The Sharks have folded, just like in postseasons of past, and it might finally be time for this club to be ‘blown’ up. The Red Wings are also an excellent road hockey club and the elements of the Shark tank will not dictate the outcome of this game. Detroit is 4-2 SU in its last 6 games on the road and is 5-11 SU in its last 16 games when playing San Jose. We will consider the Wings riding the momentum they have gained in the past three outings right on through to the western conference finals with the Vancouver Canucks. Cheers!

Sharks at Red Wings Game 6 Odds and Predictions – Free NHL Picks 5-10-11

Free NHL Playoffs Picks and Odds – Game 6 San Jose Sharks at Detroit Red Wings Favorite, Moneyline, Total and Predictions 5/10/11: The San Jose Sharks have had no answer for the furry of offensive fortitude the Wings have exercised in the past couple of games and now their backs are up against the wall in game 6. Antti Niemi was rocked for three tallies in the third period of game 5, which propelled the Wings to the impractical win. Joe Thornton and Patrick Marleau have seen a drop in their play, but it is not to say they are all to blame. The Wings have created a formidable shut down line in Miller, Franzen, and Draper that have blanked the talented offensive units for three period stints in the last two outings. No longer are these gems having their way in the Wings defensive end and flexing their muscle in the dirty areas of the ice. Penalties will have to be addressed for puck drop tonight in the motor city, the Sharks have been down a man for an entire period over the last two tilts. Penalties happen in NHL playoff hockey, but the Sharks are committing unnecessary infractions on a regular occurrence. The last thing San Jose wants is to return home with the series on the line, so I expect them to come out blazing tonight on road ice.

The Detroit Red Wings have reaped the benefits of coming out of the gates hot and will now entertain the possibility of pushing this series to a game 7 tilt, a far thought a week ago. Mike Babcock executed some brilliant line shuffling after game 3 and he now has produced three lines that are creating opportunities on any given shift. Putting Mike Modano down to the third line between young snipers in Cleary and Miller has been the most visual altercation yet. This line is excelling on both ends of the ice and the shiftiness of both young players is allowing Modano some options. Jimmy Howard has been making the big save finally, something he was not doing in the first three, and he is affording his defensemen the opportunity to be more offensive. Hendrick Zetterberg is without a doubt the catalyst that the Wings are riding in this series, his offensive fortitude and defensive prowess have been contagious for Detroit across the board.

The complimentary selection we will recommend tonight lies with the home team in the Detroit Red Wings. This series was destined for a game 7 from the get-go and I expect the series to be decided in the sunny state of California. The Red Wings were baffled by the Sharks stingy trap game and commitment to the cycle in the first three games, but have rebounded by exposing the Sharks back end. Countless times in games 4 and 5 the Red Wings caught Sharks defensemen either pinching or taking inadvertent shifts. San Jose’s defense is solid, but young, and the Wings have done an excellent job at rattling their confidence and making them think twice. Detroit has also amped up the fore check, which has created some opportunities when careless defensive passes have been intercepted in prime territory. Mike Babcock has done an excellent job at creating four lines that can all produce at any given time and that can line up well against the big Sharks line-up. The pairing of Drew Miller, Kris Draper, and Johan Franzen have done a superb job at shutting down the big Sharks unit of Joe Thornton, Patrick Marleau, and Danny Heatley. Detroit boasts a powerful record at home against this Californian bunch, Detroit is 15-8 SU in its last 23 games when playing at home against San Jose. San Jose is 3-6 SU in its last 8 games when playing Detroit and is 8-16-1 SU in its last 25 games when playing on the road against Detroit. Wings coach Mike Babcock is a great motivator and he will have his club ready to play tonight in front of the motor city faithful. We will consider the Red Wings pulling one step closer to executing the impossible, coming back from 3 down, by picking up a hard earned game 6 victory tonight. Cheers!

Canucks at Predators Game 6 Odds and Predictions – Free NHL Picks 5-9-11

Free NHL Playoffs Picks and Odds – Game 6 Vancouver Canucks at Nashville Predators Favorite, Moneyline, Total and Predictions 5/9/11: The Predators were quite fortunate to escape Vancouver with a game 5 victory on Saturday night and now will attempt to force a game 7 at home tonight. Nashville showed some grit and fight in their game and Joel Ward stepped up with a huge third period to lift the Preds over the Canucks. The often overlooked Ward scored twice, 5 minutes apart, in the third period which put the music city bunch up 4-3. Pekka Rinne held his own in the frenzy of minutes before the final buzzer; he robbed Hendrick Sedin point blank to preserve the win. For Nashville to steal this series, Pekka Rinne will have to have consecutive all-star performances and be the best player on the ice for the Predators. He has consistently bailed his club out of vulnerable situations but it is coming evident that he might be tiring a bit. In game 5 he was not as lively as in games past, he was also very sloppy with the puck. The ageless Steve Sullivan picked up his game on Saturday night and he was seen actively fore-checking and getting physical on every shift. It will take gritty performances like Sullivan and Ward for the Preds to force a game 7 and then who knows what a game 7 between these two clubs will produce.

Forced to return to Nashville is not what the Vancouver Canucks had in mind on Saturday night, but nevertheless they will seek elimination again tonight on road ice. Roberto Lulongo and the entire Vancouver defensive corp had an off night on Saturday, they gave up countless odd man rushes and Lulongo was not up to his level of play. The all-star net minder allowed 4 goals on 19 shots, his puck movement was atrocious, and he did not control his rebounds. Lulongo will have to come up big in game 6 to avert the risk of another game 7 scenario. On a positive note, Ryan Kesler is on an absolute tare as of late as the American sniper has scored 4 goals in the last three outings. He had no goals to show for through the first 9 games of playoff action, but that is not to say he was unproductive and underachieving. In fact, the 6’3” centre men might have arguably been the best player on the ice for the Canucks on a nightly basis. He is actively getting to the Predators net and causing issues in front of Rinne and he is leading the physical game for the Canucks on a nightly basis.

Tonight we will recommend a play on the Vancouver Canucks(Check the latest NHL Odds at SBG Global Sportsbook) in the music city. We will go back to the well tonight with the Canucks on road ice, we struck out with them on Saturday night with a poor performance across the board on the part of all Canuck skaters. The last thing the Vancouver Canucks want is to return home for another game 7 tilt. Game sevens are so exciting because anything can happen and the Canucks were very close to being eliminated in the first series in a game 7 scenario, so they will be pulling out all the stops tonight to prevent that. Roberto Lulongo rarely has back to back weak performances, so I expect the all-star back stopper to have a solid performance tonight on the road. The home ice advantage for the Predators has been absent all postseason long as both the Ducks and Canucks have owned the Predators in their own digs. The Canucks took both games in the music city last week so there is no hesitancy to produce on the road on the part of Vancouver. In fact, the Canucks almost prefer to play on the road as they are 13-3 SU in their last 16 games on the road. Vancouver is also 4-1 SU in its last 5 games when playing on the road against Nashville. Although the Predators have gotten to game 6 with the Canucks they have never really been in this series. When the Canucks are firing on all cylinders the Predators have had no answer for them and Saturday night was not indicative of the Canucks ‘A’ game. Nashville is 2-4 SU in its last 6 games when playing Vancouver and is 1-4 SU in its last 5 games when playing at home against Vancouver. We will consider the Canucks coming out flying to avert a game 7 tilt and pick up the final blow tonight in the music city. Cheers!

Predators at Canucks Game 5 Odds and Predictions – Free NHL Picks 5-7-11

Free NHL Playoffs Picks and Odds – Game 5 Nashville Predators at Vancouver Canucks Favorite, Moneyline, Total and Predictions 5/7/11: The Nashville Predators are up against the ropes heading back to British Columbia and they do not have much going for them at this point. They left Vancouver last week feeling pretty good about themselves having stolen a road game and evening up the series 1-1. But their good fortunes soon reversed, as the bounces did not go there way back at home. Mike Fisher and Sergei Kostitsyn, the catalysts from round 1, are having an unproductive series to this point and they might be crumbling with the burden of expectations hanging over them. They have yet to register a point between the two of them and it is quite evident that they are trying to hard to make things happen. The series landscape might have looked a lot brighter for the Predators if they could have gotten their power play going from the get-go. The Predators finally notched a power play tally in game 4 which made them 1-15 on the series, a stat that will most likely plague them throughout the upcoming off-season. If the Preds’ lose tonight the blame certainly cannot be placed on their Finish sensation in net. Pekka Rinne has been solid, and sensational at moments, throughout this series and he has done everything in his power to get the club to where they are now. Rinne has faced 138 shots in the four games against the Canucks, only allowing 9 to get by him. He has undoubtedly been the best player on the ice for the Predators on each given night in this series and we might not even be talking about game 5 for it not be for his spectacular play.

The Canucks are one win away from a birth into the western conference semi-finals and they will have a chance of earning the right at home tonight. Being the Presidents trophy winners from this past regular season holds a lot of weight and expectations along with it, but the Canucks have been able to live up to those expectations and play their potential of hockey on most nights this postseason. They enter game 5 tonight with all the momentum in the world as they have absolutely shut down the Predators offense and are having little issue getting to the net against Nashville’s vaunted defensive unit. Roberto Lulongo is living up to this billing, finally, and his demons of playoff hockey seem to be a thing of the past. For the most part, he has shown up each night and provided a solid outing in between the pipes. The Quebec native is controlling his rebounds and not letting early goals in games get the better of him for the duration of the tilt. Ryan Kesler, who was scoreless through the first 9 games of playoff action, has notched 3 goals in the past two games and is looking more and more like the catalyst of this club. He is seen hustling and fore checking on every shift he takes and the determination and power in his game is infectious.

Tonight we will recommend a play on the Vancouver Canucks(Check the latest NHL Odds at SBG Global Sportsbook) as they will look to wrap up the series on home ice and gain so much needed down time. For it not have been for an errant bounce late in game two this series might have been wrapped up in the music city. The Nashville Predators simply do not have the skill level and size to match up against this Vancouver Canucks club. The Canucks are not allowing the Predators to get to the net easy and they have absolutely shut down their powerplay. Roberto Lulongo is determined to hoist the Cup this year, it is quite evident in the attention to details that he is carrying out each night. His tendency to be careless with rebounds is gone and he is not giving up “garbage” goals. Vancouver is 4-1 SU in its last 5 games when playing Nashville and s 5-2 SU in its last 7 games at home. On the flip side, Nashville is 7-14-1 SU in its last 22 games, when playing on the road against Vancouver. We will consider another quick second round NHL series cumulating tonight at Rogers Arena. Cheers!

Flyers at Bruins Game 4 Odds and Predictions – Free NHL Picks 5-6-11

Free NHL Playoffs Picks and Odds – Game 4 Philadelphia Flyers at Boston Bruins Favorite, Moneyline, Total and Predictions 5/6/11: The Philadelphia Flyers have had absolutely nothing to show for through three game in their second round eastern conference playoff series and all indications are that this team has climaxed. Down three games and with their hopes dwindling, the Flyers had received little contributions from their elite skaters and next to none from their supporting cast. They are being outskated to the puck, outworked on the boards, and out manned in front of the net, a tell tale sign that they are not mentally or physically in the series. In last year’s playoffs they became stronger as the playoffs wore on and got all the way to the Stanley Cup finals as an eighth seed, but this year they have reversed this notion in that they are weakening by the game. They start slow and try to make up ground way too late in contests, never attributable traits of Flyers clubs from past seasons.

The Boston Bruins have been in a frenzy ever since dropping the first two contests at home to the Montreal Canadiens in the first round. They have only lost once since dropping the pair and they are getting stronger by the game. Goaltender Tim Thomas is finally living up to expectations in the playoffs and he is on a collision course with the Conn Smythe trophy. He is affording his team the opportunity to pinch and play vulnerable defensive hockey in the interest of goal scoring. Thomas is also controlling his rebounds and giving little garbage in front of the net for the Flyers forwards to take advantage of. Tomas Kaberle, the Leaf cast off, has performed mightily in this second round series and his vision and puck movement has added a missing element to this club that has been lacking for years.

The complimentary selection tonight is the Boston Bruins(Check the latest NHL Odds at SBG Global Sportsbook) finishing things off against the Philadelphia Flyers in the second round NHL series. There is little going for the Flyers in this series and their determination and fight that was quite evident in the regular season and first round is all but non-existent. They are no longer leading the physical presence on the ice and they are succumbing to the Bruins furious fore check. Brian Boucher has not afforded his club any breaks as well, and unfortunately you need a goaltender that has the ability to steal some games in the playoffs. The Bruins have a new found determination that is quite visible in every shift, and on every line, on any given night. They are great at jumping out of the gate hot and have the playoff mentality to not get over zealous offensively when the game is in their hands. Claude Julien knows the urgency for this club to win now and he has his club primed for a Stanley Cup appearance this year. Boston is 7-1 SU in its last 8 games and is 5-0 SU in its last 5 games when playing Philadelphia. The Bruins also hold the best home record among teams participating in the playoffs this year, Boston is 6-2 SU in its last 8 games at home. Philadelphia is 2-5 SU in its last 7 games and is 2-5 SU in its last 7 games on the road. We will consider the Boston Bruins knocking off the Flyers tonight on way to a long awaited eastern conference semi-final appearance. Cheers!
