THE PIGSKIN GUY’s College Football Free Plays for Saturday, September 12, 2009
Purdue @ Oregon OVER 58.5 – Purdue had the offense rolling last saturday against Toledo, as they hung a 52 on the scoreboard. Their defense wasn’t as good, however, giving up 31. Oregon struggled up in Boise, but I look for their offense to break out big against a suspect Purdue defense. Lots of points in this one. I love the OVER.
Buffalo +10.5 – Buffalo can play and Turner Gill is a big time coach. Look for Buffalo to give Pittsburgh all they can handle this week. Don’t be surprised if Buffalo wins outright. Pittsburgh has no business laying -10.5 on the road this week.
TCU -11 – Virginia is terrible. I will be shocked if Al Groh survives the season. The boosters have had enough of this guy already. Look for TCU to roll and embarass the Cavs at home by 3 plus touchdowns.

Eagles -3 – I’m not sold on the Panthers at all in 2009. Like my colleague Stephen G noted a week or so ago, Fox has never put back-to-back playoff seasons together. I look for a tough Eagles team to get it done by at least a TD this week.
Jets +4 – This game has Jets outright win or Texans FG win written all over it. The Texans always struggle out of the gates and have no business being anything more than -3 in their opener. The Jets will be formidable this season. Take the points.
Dallas -5.5 – The Bucs stink. They fired their OC just a week before the season starts and are nothing short of a mess. The Cowboys may not be a juggernaut this season, but they will have no trouble disposing the Bucs into the garbage(where they belong!) in week 1. Cowboys roll.
Washington +6.5 – Tough divisional rival game right out of the shoot in the NFC East. I love it. Look for the Redskins to keep it close and give the GMEN all they can handle. The GMEN will survive, but it should go down to the wire. The Redskins defense is good and the offense will hold it’s own.
Miami +4.5 – A lot of people seem to be writing off the Dolphins this season as if last season was a fluke. Not so fast my friends. They won’t win the AFC East with Brady back, but they still may make the playoffs. They have a good coach, decent offense, and an improving defense. I like the Fish to keep this game close if not win outright.

Buffalo +10.5 – I watched New England play a lot in the preseason and I have my doubts about this team. Brady looked fine and I expect their offense to be superb, but that defense is a train wreck right now. Lots of new faces and unproven guys will be logging a lot of downs early on for the Pats. Expect a lot of close games early on because of it. Buffalo will surprise and keep this one to 10 points or less.
San Diego -9.5 – This one will be a laugher. Oakland has no business playing on Monday night so I don’t know what the hell the NFL was thinking putting these bums on our TV set out of the shoot. Good lord. The Chargers will steamroll. Forget about linesmaker traps. This one is easy.
