Mr. Green Jeans….AKA Brett Favre…..Go Away Already!

I know, I know, we are all sick of hearing about Brett Favre. I’m so sick of the most overrated player of all time, i need one last parting goodbye.

I would put at least 20 quarterbacks ahead of Mr. green jeans. How? His stats mislead people. I will say right up front that his consecutive start total is very impressive. I give him that. How he performed during those starts is equally as important.

His superbowl win was with a team that ran the ball and had a great defense. He did his job. Then he didn’t do his job when the Packers lost to an 11pt underdog Bronco team. That didn’t matter. The “awe schucks” guy became beloved, so much so, that the Packers abandoned the running game and let the egomaniac become the team’s identity. They started to throw the ball twice as much as they ran. Some say that’s because they couldn’t run the ball. WRONG. They didn’t commit to running the ball. You can’t do something you don’t try to do. Then the defense went, all that was left was the mighty Brett and his adoring fans.

People say he had a ton of completions. I would hope so…. he had the most attempts. Some would say that’s why he is the all time interception leader in NFL history…. he just threw more. WRONG. He threw the most interceptions because he could not and still cannot read defenses. How many stupid, ridiculous passes did he throw into triple coverage? The old excuse was he believed he could still get the ball there. The 5% of the time he did he was praised, but what about the 95% of the time he didn’t? Very few called him out on that. Turnovers lose football games. It’s not gunslinging, it’s poor quarterbacking. Most of his interceptions, to this day, are because he can’t read coverages after 18 yrs in the league. If you don’t see that, you don’t know football.

Now you might say, “he lead them to the NFC championship a couple years ago.” WRONG. That was a new coach who committed to the run. # 25, Ryan Grant, led a balanced attack and ran for over 1000 yards and they also had a good defense. That’s why they got to the championship game. The prima donna had to finally play team ball and what does he do? He then he proceeds to singlehandedly lose to the Giants after the entire team played well enough to win. That’s Brett the playoff gag artist. Remember when he threw 6 interceptions in one playoff game? His first year he was clutch in the postseason. The rest, a joke.

Now to the present. What he did to the Green Bay organization is a crime. He knew they needed a definite answer. They had to get Rodgers ready, pronto. So Mr. green jeans takes his time, and after rodgers has been given the job, wants to come back. What a team guy. Then, he demonizes the Packers organization that made him the spoiled brat he is. Even after Green Bay told him to take a hike, he still tried to bad mouth them. That’s quite a legend, huh?

So then he goes and once again chokes and takes down Mangini. Then he said his arm was hurt. Too bad. You are either 100% and play or 0% and do what’s best for your team and sit, but Brett is unfamiliar with team ball. Everyone was hurt, they just chose not to have a press conference about it.

So finally, apparently not having ruined enough teams, he chooses the Vikings as his next victims. Brett doesn’t realize teams need to get ready and practice together. He also doesn’t realize QB’s were brought in and promised a shot at the job. Granted, they suck, but Brett Favre was washed up a good 8-10 yrs ago. look at last year. If the Vikings think he is an upgrade, they will be sadly disappointed. It actually makes me happy Mr. green jeans has lost his mind. He’s showing everybody what a bafoon he is. Maybe people will come to their senses about this phony. Even Troy Aikman, who i believe is the best analyst on TV, is not on board with Favre. And by the way, Aikman was 1000 times the QB than the farm boy.

COMING UP: In my next article about Brett Fraud, I will name at least 20 NFL quartebacks(past or present) that are better than Mr. green jeans…
